Wow, I love that poem. Gorgeous imagery that I really connect with. Gentle and flowing. Love the rhyme scheme and rhythm throughout - you nailed it and it really emphasises the theme and content. Brilliant!

A tetrameter Rispetto in proper form, looks to me like, and at my age a lot of life is memories, and too many good things are memories only anymore. Excellent post.

Great job, Yvonne, with your rispetto form potlatch. Your meter is excellent & rhymes perfect. Your picture is a great pairing with you well-chosen words. Your picture has an 'old timey' feel to it--in a great way. I can see one sitting in their porch swing reminiscing about the days of old at the watering hole swimming, hanging out with a bunch of friends. Thanks for sharing. Jan

No matter how old a person is, they always like to remember times past. It's nice to think of the easy days of youth when work and bills didn't figure so strongly in your thinking.
It's also nice to remember a time when you didn't have so many aches and pains. I haven't had as many birthdays as what you have, but I've been fairly rough on my body with horse-riding and rodeoing.

In my opinion - just beautiful - an absolutely lovely poem, with a verse to which I can personally relate. I care little about the form in the read - the beauty for me is the thought presented so warmly in perfect rhyming rhythm. Thank you for sharing...
