How strange. I have a eucalyptus tree in my garden that was given to me by a dear friend some years ago. She is gone now and this spring the tree really struggled to put on new growth. I thought it had had it but like the tree in your poem it's trying. So this poem really reesonated with me.

This poem, Goodbyes, touches me deeply as I recall my brother's final season, trying to will himself through it to the spring. Touching poem.

This is sad and poignant - and tugged on my heartstrings a little. I love the line, "beneath a cloak of love." I hope the lady in the poem finds peace.

A skilful poem and I could identify with your words, many words remained unsaid between my husband and I, they were much too painful to say, a delicate and emotion poem, love Dolly x

I have to give this six stars. It is an exceptional piece. I loved the lines, "Yes, for one more spring; one last time, for remembering." Just breathtaking how you capture so much feeling in so few lines. Obviously I find no room for improvement. Imagery is great. Emotion is raw and deep. Picture you choice was spot on. An overall excellent piece. Thanks for sharing.

Loanna this reminds me of my mother and father. They were married beside a small sapling tree . She is now gone and I can see that tree being a painful reminder
For once
the tree she shared with him,
beneath a cloak of love.
But now the tree...and he
speak only from above.
This is poignant and very sad.
I wish I had a six
God bless
Jenny

Trees are special - I can't cut one around my place without remembering my dad, and thanking him for it. He's gone now, but the legacy he left will remain for years to come. Your fine poem reminded me of that, and I truly thank you for sharing it here.
