Hello, this whole post is rather curious, from the picture, title and words above the title, to the author notes, but that's good if you spark curiosity in someone your job as a writer has been achieved.
I wonder why you're sorry? hahaha
The title made me feel like I was in for an epic saga, but the poem is brief, and the picture is the French and their penchant for head culling. And the content of the poem which speaks of FanStory in the same breath as civil liberties.
And the precious author notes heheeehe
The English language is diverse in its evolution, and language is organic and changing. French, Viking, Norman, Britons, Saxons, and any other plonker from who knows where chatting in the market, picking up words, learning words, teaching others words. They are indeed magical. You need to write another poem, explaining this poem.
But perhaps at the bottom of this is the annoying situation you find yourself in with the fanStory editor, going in time and time again to fix it, and the fact that you have to write so many words for a review goes against the grain of your social ideas of freedom of speech. And I get that, it's challenging to meet the quota of words for a review of a 1 line poem.
And of course the thread of the potpourri, that specific word, 'curt' Who knows!!! It should be decurt, but no. Clever.
I enjoyed this, it engaged me and I'm giving it six stars, Ana.

Well! This certainly is a most detailed and comprehensive response to the shortest poem I've ever written (to date!)
Many thanks, Ana, for the most fun review. In all truthfulness, I think my thought process was something like... "Oh, the word of the days means "short". I'll give you short!
I remember a famous poem I learned in High School by John Donne:
John Donne, Anne Donne, undone.
That's it. That was, until now, the shortest poem I knew, and I've reduced it by 60%! Now doubt someone will cut mine in half by 50% before the day is out lol

I found your P.S. to be as interesting as your very short poem which you were unable to post in its brevity. I like the illustration. Reminds me of "curtsy" which is a short or partial bow. Marilyn

All it takes is the right word, and a whole lot of determination to write a winning 2/1 poem. The punctuation made a big difference too in the overall meaning, don't you think?
A fine job with the shortest one ever. Tons of fun and I think you're gonna get on the New York Times Best Seller List with this form. Actually it really could be a hoot with the right artwork such as yours.
Enjoyed, so write some more of dese pomes. Hmmm maybe I'll try one. Nah, too lazy. ;-)

I decided, after considerable contemplation, that it's actually far too verbose. I'm working on reducing the length by half for the next submission. Oh, and it will be in iambic heptameter, of course :) Many thanks, Gloria. Your comments are always very gratefully received. Craig
