Just love this satirical take on the Supreme Court appointment. So clever and adhering to the poetic rhythm as well as the song, which by the way is one of my favorites. Thank you for making me smile today. Best, RFL

THANK YOU! I was beginning to think no one would get this. You're my new hero. Yes, great song! Agree. mike

This three-five-three, Libtard's Dream, uses the eleven syllables to make conservatives feel good about moving the country forty years into the past.

Yep, or more. The liberals STILL have the Supremes though ... STOP, in the name of love! LOL

I think this is a good entry for the 3-5-3 writing prompt.
Your short verse brings back memories of the music so long ago.
Well done and good luck to you with the competition.

Comment from Gloria ....
Very clever, author. Court, love, the Supremes--Brilliant. I truly admire the amount of creative thinking that goes into these shorter pieces and you've done a fine job with this beauty.
Best of luck to you in the contest.

Wow. Thanks so much, Gloria. I was beginning to think NO ONE was going to get the gist of this. Yes, you are on point and I am relieved. I'll take this as my win. :))

Hi, this is different. I actually don't understand it, but I like the picture although I am not sure of its connection to the poem. Is 'Supreme's Court' a town, or a courthouse? Anyway, the poem doesn't require my understanding to be a good poem and there are no spelling errors etc, so thanks for sharing your writing, and my only explanation for improvement would be to add an author note to let readers know where it is an what it means. Cheers, Ana.

Hi there, Ana. I forget that there's a whole world besides the U.S.A. LOL! Typical, yes? We're currently in the middle of filling a spot on our Supreme Court here. Well, with a conservative President comes a conservative Justice. So this is a poor liberal hoping beyond hope that all this Supreme Court talk is actually about the beloved Surpemes and not our judicial body.
I'm pleased you enjoy the Supremes as much as I do and that's enough to get a favorable response. Thanks so much. :))

Hello anon
Great stuff - I hope enough reviewers are old enough (and cultured enough!) to recall Motown's finest.
A good one: contest fit in that it is the right shape and size and perhaps different enough to stand out in the contest too.
I wish you well with this and your further writing
cheers
phill.

Gee, does one have to be OLD to remember? Hey ... I saw their picture on grandpa's eight track tape. LOL
Glad you liked this one, Phil. Not everyone knows what in the world I'm talking about, so I appreciate this review a great deal. Thanks so much. :))

this is certainly a creative poem. I'm just not sure what it's about really. i mean, it's about supreme court, obviously, but i still don't entirely get it.

It's about a liberal hoping beyond hope that all this Supreme Court talk is about the Supremes girl group instead being as though there is certain to be a conservative Justice added to the bench. You're on the right track. You're not alone, some get it, some don't. Thanks for a close read and honest comments. That helps a lot. :))

HAAAAAAAAAHAHAHA! You could make a pretty good entry out of that!! LOL
Yep. The Dems aren't in the best of shape and they're going to be looking at this conservative court for decades. No wonder they're dreaming that this Supreme Court talk is about the Supremes, the girl group. :))

This is a very nice play on words. Cute, catchy and current. The three very attractive ladies do not hurt either. Best wishes and good luck in the three - five - three writing contest.
