That's a good opening line, intrigue form the start.
sown by the inability to to swoop me away - delete the repetition of 'to' here.
God hears as us we whisper - I think you need to invert as and us here.
Of course, in the eyes of religion, adultery has already been committed - if you belief that sort of thing. Some belief that this kind is worse than the carnal kind.
A well written little piece with a good strong voice.

A man of God cheats with a married woman. Well, his belief in God may not be as real as he claims. To be a man of God and thinks the secret of cheating is safe from who? People don't care what another person does. He loses his credibility with the people and they think no more of him or her. Down the line should worry them.

I have online friendships that could be misunderstood as cheating. I have no desire to do anything. Genuine friendship is the goal. Entertaining physical relationship or anything other than a social relationship seems wrong. Interfering with a committed relationship is not safe or right even though many do it.

Wow, a married woman in love with a priest. This is a familiar story which happened to my best friend with the initial M. She separated from her husband, married the priest who vowed out of the parish and lived out of the clerical life. Now they are blessed with two children and are happily living together. I enjoyed this romance fiction.
