Hi Craig. I am such a klutz. I never could dance. Was a laughing stock when I tried. No clue for today's word. But I thought it might have something to do with dancing. Well done. Thank you for sharing

The definition was there all along Pam, but you guessed right, anyway. Me too, by the way - my whole poem is a big, fat lie lol

My choreomania flopped when my jaw began to sag. The bags under my eyes are enough weight to carry around, never mind dance! Aside from the fact that I gained thirty-five pounds... (LOL - I'd say ROFL but you'd picture me actually rolling...)

LOVED it (and Johnnie's great hips.)

Well, there is exactly one line in this poem that is almost true - can you pick it? LOL

Many thanks for the lovely review :)

Did I forget to mention I gained those thirty-five pounds thirty years ago?

This is a good one :) It takes me back to standing in line to see that John Travolta movie. It was adults only and bf at the time gets up to the counter and asks for one adult and one youth. Idiot!!! We had to walk past the miles of people lined up to get in. I finally got to see the movie with somebody else. Ah the memories of high school days.

Haha yes, I had to sneak in not quite legally as well :) Sounds like your then bf wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed! Many thanks, Joy.

Craig, This is a very cute and very well written poem about the dance mania and your mastering it. You used very good descriptive words and great imagery with the art work. Made me think of so many years ago and the strobe lights in the dance clubs. Blessings, Teri

It's all lies, Teri - I'm a hopeless dancer lol

I'm sure you would have mastered it though.

    Many thanks,
    Craig

Hi Craig
You led us a song and dance to bring us to two left feet.
well. it makes for a good laugh.
You could write your own dance song
dance with the goat, dance with the sheep
and if they get bored , dance with boepeep. :-))Z.

There's something oddly David Bowie sounding about your song there, Z.

Many thanks for a fun review.

Hi, Craig,

Wow - just like good old John, huh?

Your poem and wonderful presentation brought back memories, and I loved so many of the lines; 'Sydney Kid,' 'three-piece suit.' (Honestly, can anyone forget that bright white suit?)

Thank you for the walk down disco lane, and introducing me to a new word.

It's all lies, Patty. I don't have two left feet - more like about fourteen :) Thank you for the wonderful comments and the superbly generous rating. I'm glad it brought back memories for you; it did for me, too - and I cringe at some of them!

    Cheers,
    Craig

Lol. Enjoyed your humor and quite a lot of dance expressions from ballet to disco and ballroom. I think the meaning of choreomania is easy to guess and the picture reminds me of the DDR dance mats.

OK, I had to resort to Google, but they are what I thought. Thanks again for the fine review - Craig

Nobody else would think to rhyme choreomania with Australia. Of course, nobody else would be writing a poem about choreomania. You are such a delight. I've actually been listening to the BeeGees today. I found an old disco ball to entertain my grandson, and he and I went jive talking. We both danced very well.

Well, in truth, you wouldn't have to dance very well to show me up as a bald-faced liar in this poem, Debbie. Sounds like you and grandson had a blast. My other half actually bought a Bee Gees album just a couple of months ago - and 2/3 of them passed away long ago! Many thanks for the great review - Craig

No fair! But I guess this gives new meaning to the term leftist except in your case it's really true! A fun kickback to the disco era, Craig and there's no doubt the Bee Gees and John Travolta will remain forever etched on our choreomanic brains.

Much enjoyed your great wit in rhyme and metre. :)

Thanks for the lovely comments, Gloria. Not sure about two left feet, but what do you call a girl with one leg shorter than the other? A: Eileen.

    Tish boom. Hold the applause.

    Many thanks,
    Craig

A very well-written poem about the meaning of the word choreomania and the dancing mania. Some people are born dancers, while others just don't have it in them.
