It seems like remembering your home town is not a happy memory. More like a time when alcohol was a problem. I don't understand the dog as the artwork. Was he a family pet. He/she is cute anyway.

I used to hate reading dryptic poetry, and often wondered why? But I've written a few, but usually I think if there's.a message, I'd rather people understand, but then I appreciate art, I used to like landscapes, still do, but I also like tike layered thought, a lot of our life we spend in being puzzled anyway, well done, I've wondered why you only write this way. I like your free verse form and the column form of your poem. There is a light feel and flow to your words. Love the two lines "cause booze walks around". So real and true to life. I also like the picture of the dog.

I know this has such a deeper meaning that the surface reads. I read it several times and interrupted it in various ways, but loved it each time. "My last shot of them," really stood out as a pivotal moment. In your author notes, I see that it is about closed minded individuals.
