Exceptional

In my opinion, a superb write, exceptional in every way - I was totally immersed in the lyric and artful beauty of your words and the imagery they created as I read. I read it a second time, and found its beauty more stunning the second time. I wish I could give you 10 Stars. Beautiful...

I love this poem, it is full of images, dreamlike and fanciful. yet it is grounded in reality with commonplace images of grass, flowers mountains and of course, the moon. the real magic is in the movement between the two planes of existence.
" A fire is reality--- A fire on fire is surreal " really well done, Estory........meeshu

Its graveyard opens to the sky,
Gives up its dead,
Silently, invisibly,
Rising up into the white clouds

That verse seemed so magical to me, this was a well thought out poem, each section was great in its own way, good work

Thanks so much for the five star review and for your perspective on the poem. That stanza was inspired by an Ansel Adams photograph of a town in New Mexico with the moon rising behind it. Ansel was the true poet of photography, a master for all times. It was easy to set the words to the picture he made. estory

Wow....just wow! Your words and your beautiful imagery transport the reader into a lush meadow lit only by the silver strands of a looming full moon -- there we are, lying there with so much displayed yet so much left to the imagination....and to the clouds and their role in this grand display.....oh my goodness! Awesome job!

And thank you so very much for sharing!

This is an excellent surreal poem drifting with the shimmering of a moonlit universe. The rhythm and internal rhyme enhance the flow of words in step with that shimmering vision. This poem caused me to remember a small town in South Central Germany named Fingennagel. It was set, just as its name, a tiara on a curved hilltop with its onion bulb-topped church the centerpiece. The night was moonlit with wisps of fog floating on a light breeze. Well done.

Thanks so much for the excellent review and your wonderful perspective on the piece. Yes, I think there is probably a bit of Yeats in there. But nothing I could write could ever match the masterpiece that is Phases of the Moon. Have you ever read that one? A pure symphony of sound, an orchestration of the English language. estory

The reader found this poem to be fascinating. A picture would have brought this poem alive. The poet did an excellent job with imagery and therefore the poem is alive in every stanza. Just like the poet I found this to be very interesting.

This is a very beautifully written free verse poem about what one sees in the midnight. You used very beautiful and descriptive words that made for very vivid imagery. I enjoyed it. Blessings, Teri
