Wow! Congratulations, Madison!! She's lovely and so poised. So thankful for the future of women in leadership with young ladies like her! I'm impressed that she had that confidence from the very start!

Thank you. She is very proud that her hard work paid off...and I am proud of the kind young teen she is growing up to be...
She has always been a great kid, just nice to see that "Junior high syndrome" hasn't made her callous and snippy!
I will extend your congratulations to her.

Congratulations to you both. Life has its wonderful moments, doesn't it, and they usually involve those that we love. I thought that this was an excellent poem. I bet that it set your granddaughter crying. You eloquently deascribe her growth and what she has meant to you. Can't get any more special than that.

Oh, I thought you couldn't beat your own kids, but let me just say that being a grandparent is even more special, since you have the dual happiness of watching your child bringing up a child....
She's always been an angel. Really. Today was a culmination of a huge step in her life and now we look ahead to high school and beyond!
I take NO day for granted and thank GOD for every day I am around for all four of my grandkids.
Thanks!

Thanks Teri. As you know we always praise God, but never more than when our grandchildren are happy, healthy, kind, God-fearing, bright and beautiful....
(Not that I'm biased or anything)
What a joyful event today! She really is beautiful in that dress isn't she?

This is a beautiful reminiscence about and tribute to your granddaughter, Madison, upon her graduation from eighth grade with high honors. (Fortunately, her school is not too "politically correct" to grant her that honors certificate lest someone feel deprived.) She does look poised and confident, and you are justifiably proud of her. I'm sure your unconditional love and emotional support contributed to her success thus far, giving her a solid foundation to build upon for the future. Superb. (Sorry I'm out of Sixes for this week, so please consider this review's rating a Virtual Six.)

Today was like sixty stars, so no worries on that six thing. She has always been a wonderful child...the one who'd convince me at Christmas to go to the dollar store and buy fifty pairs of gloves or hats so she and I could go around giving them randomly to the homeless. She hates bullying and goes out of her way to include all in her class in anything she does...and if one of her classmates bullies she has a way about her to convince them it's just not the right thing to do.
Typical grand mom that I am I could go on and on not only about her, but also her brothers Matt (8) and Maxwell (4) -- who holds my cheeks and goes nose to nose with me and says "Me-Me I love you TOO much!"--
And let's not forget Emilyn Jayne, my daughter's only child. 9 Years old and reading at high school level (yes, she gets THAT from ME!)---and a high purple belt and assistant instructor at Tae Kwan Do and proficient with her violin...
Yes, by the way, there are a number of schools (most) who ceased posting honors or high honors...but not Madison's, thank goodness!
SO GLAD you got to see her and are tolerating my ebullient joy and love for her..... (smile)
Thanks!

You are welcome, K. I know the feeling, as I am a grandparent too. Clearly, you are doing something right with ALL your grandchildren, and each one will remember in his or her own way. -- Mike

This is a lovely poem/story about Madison's graduation... what a celebratory day! You sound so very proud and in love with her... she has her whole life ahead of her, and with your love and support some of your blood in her veins, I am confident she is destined for some amazing accomplishments in her lifetime... I can almost feel the pride bouncing off of the pages, when I read the poem... because I can feel love for her in almost every word, syllable, period or comma. Congratulations!

I adore her. All four of my grandkids. I'd take a bullet for any of them. I thought kids were "it" but hey, being a grand parent...getting to love and spoil and give them back when they are overtired is kind of heaven on earth. I know I am obnoxiously going on. Nobody ever accused me of being quiet about those I love!
Thanks!

Well, it's that darn Scorpion influence... remember, love is intense for anyone who has so many planets in that sign... it is the most emotional of all water signs, and when they love, they love whole-heartedly, body and soul!
-
I am an emotional basket case...from the procession in to the parking lot I cried like a baby! (I cry at dog food commercials if puppies are involved)----
It's a wonder she tolerates me! I dread the day she thinks she's "too cool" for her grandmother......
-
That will never happen my friend... :)
-
You are like a sister. It's so eerie!
-
We're both eerie! :) not kinda... definitely eerie.... but hey, with the Libra and Scorpio combo we BOTH got going on in our charts, I am not surprised at all... Scorpio's are very drawn to occult and are often very intrigued by the supernatural... they often have psychic abilities... combined with Libran super-skill and highly developed intuition and strong analytical abilities, and being very compassionate by nature, it is as if we are looking in a mirror.. maybe seeing a different image than what we are expecting, but seeing a similarity too in the image... there's something I see in you and I believe you see in me... which intuitively let's us know that we are 'safe' and can be ourselves... and that we will typically always understand where the other is coming from... hell, we are something else, what can I say? when you got it, I say flaunt it!! :)
-
It is a rare gift and I AM somewhat cautious in opening up...with you there was never a moment....I read, I saw your pic, and I felt we'd known one another for eons...which maybe we have!

I've been posting! Just won the 5-7-5 contest! Did some editing and worked on some other writing work for a change...I don't have a workhorse muse like yours...wish I did I'd post two a day!
Thanks....she's the best....
(Okay, Emilyn, Matthew and Maxwell are just as special...just much younger!)
Thanks,
Karenina
