I love the line, "I pull innocence closer to me". I, too, slept on a featherbed for part of my childhood when I was innocent as the goose who gave his feathers. And then you say "I surrender to God's full worth".
That is a wonderful statement. It tells me that I must continue to seek God's "full worth" -- no matter what. Right now I am mad at God because my fiancé today told me that he has terminal brain cancer. I must seek God's "full worth".

My daughter just had her first baby boy. He is a week old. Your poem resonated with me
It is mine for the taking,
a gift given at birth.
Our grandson is such a blessing
God bless

Hi
Diana. This is a good entry for the contest
Everyone needs to have some kind of faith. It is what we turn when sorrow pays a visit. I hope all is well with you. I really liked this stanza.
"Pondering pure moments in my life,
resting wide-eyed upon a feather bed;
I pull innocence ever closer to me--
then tip toe to the brink."
Thank you for sharing

Comment from Gloria ....
I got quite a chuckle out of your author note about every day unreflective life. It's almost impossible in the fray the busy to be reflective, but your eloquent poem most delicately captures the moment with wide-eyed upon a feather bed.
A lovely entry into the contest and I wish you all the best.

My feather bed is a preferred spot for me to take a break and refresh. It is my safe spot from being unreflective. thanks Gloria

Hello Artasylum
from reading your free verse poem
what I feel no matter how many times of the
your twists and turns and mostly it just slaps you around by it's demands... you still have Faith.

This spiritual poem, Spirit Soars, is a testimony to the powerful bond between mothers and their children. The connection of that to a loving God makes the protection perfect.
