An absolutely stunning free verse, Mav, right from the I do to the poem's sake.
Each word carefully selected ushers forth the aching loneliness of the poet in love with the earth, the moon and the stars.

I take one offense if you can't get back to me. I'm the lucky one that can read your words here anytime I want. :-) No pretending here..I review just as I feel it. Deserve? Mikey! Don't get me started lol I am a "Mikey Fan''... I could probably amaze these birds this morning singing your praises or completely smother you with friendly words of adoratin or shock you into complete silence ;-p ( it's a risk I take) deserve? tsk tsk Mikey..don't you know your beautiful souls shines though your poetry.. :-)

The poem sounds abstract but conveys a longing of the heart. Somewhat mystical, perhaps it is purposefully so. Love that is greater than the physical realm and is lifted above,

Exceptionally well written is this love poem that is filled with lots of imagery and lots of emotions. Excellent presentation for the passionately written poem. This poem should do very well in the free verse poetry contest. Good Luck...

You had me with your title. I tried to resist, but you broke me with, "I do admit delirium". Then you sealed the deal with, "(I dream your laureate extraordinaire)". Should that be, "you're"? Yes, my humble poet, if you can get me the title of poet laureate, I'm in!!! Long distance relationships don't work so well. Plus I have a husband, three kids, four grandkids, two dogs, and one dog staying with us for a month. I come with a lot of baggage.
So, you have an outstanding poem for the Free Verse Poetry Contest. I'd declare you the winner, except nobody listens to me around here. Sorry! This should have been in a love poem contest. You're going to be having women throwing themselves at you over this one.
And, no, you have not convinced me to write free verse. Nuh uh.
