The poem is gripping and compelling. The story is heart-breaking. Leg traps are terrible. Animals have been known to chew a leg off to free themselves. It is wonderful of you to bring this atrocity to our attention. The "ghost of the mountains" should be protected, not hunted. Thank you for your interest.

nicely done, Pam you hit me where I live with the traps. my friend in high school was a trapper in Iowa. mostly muskrat, weasel and mink. he would carry a pellet gun for the ones that were foul-trapped and alive. I get queasy thinking about it...........meeshu

Love it. A great poem about the snow leopard, so very informative and sad. Your words really come to life. I love the fast pace at which you write. Great illustration. Love Jen.

Your poem is lovely, Pam, and I consider it a crying shame when any species of animal faces extinction.
But those late-night commercials by the World Wildlife Foundation where the snow leopard mournfully whines in the background really get on my last nerve.
They show it again, and again, and again, and...well... you get the picture.
Anyhow, that's neither here nor there.
Here's hoping the snow leopard pulls through.

Thank you LaFrance so much for the extra star. Maybe block off the snow leopards habitat and not allow people in there. Thank you for your lovely review Much appreciated

Excellent job, Pam. Your poem is so honest and touches on a subject that I hold dear. It's heartbreaking to think of how many species are nearing extinction. I've posted something similar about wolves called Truce. Hopefully, someday others will see that the world is for all of us. Thank you for sharing.

It makes me cry Violet. We may have to kill poachers to save animals. Not sure I like that. That is why I suggested huge fines. But that will not stop the natives who are. It would be nice to know the demographics of the snow leopard poachers. Big fines and long jail time. Thank you so much for the extra star and for the wonderful detailed review
