Your well written verse tells a tragic and all too true tale.
As long as there are poachers in this world, beautiful species, such as the Snow Leopard, will be in danger of extinction.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

Comment from Gloria ....
Very nicely done, Pam. I wrote a long poem about the snow leopard a few years ago too, so it's great to see other people carrying on with the cause. It is most sad how we are encroaching on their habitat, but then mankind is rather acquisitive, yes?
Very much enjoyed your poem. :)

Especially the white man, eh? At everyone else?s expense. Not all but I have not seen Africans colonize or enslave whites. It is we who just take and take. Thank you Gloria for your wonderful review and excellent rating

This is excellent. It ticks me off that poachers get away with senseless killing of animals whether they are endangered or not. Beautiful artwork to accompany your fantastic poem. I am assuming it's yours? You explained it so well, it must be. Very well written. Marilyn

Yes, Marilyn, it is mine. I am trying to write poems to my artwork. I did this with some others. Why not? They have built in themes? In the painting the leopard has a pink heart beating. She is trying to blend into the jungle so the poachers won?t see her. So sad. I hope some will donate to WWF. thank you for your wonderful review. And thank you so very much for one of your six star ratings. Much appreciated

Hi Pam. Your artwork is outstanding and I did "get" the beating heart. I do contribute to the WWF and other animal advocacy groups. It's a tragedy that animals are at the mercy of humans. We will rue the day when we have no more of these beautiful creatures in the world. Shame on us for not being better stewards. Marilyn

The trouble is I guess, poachers will carry on until there are none left. I remember Gloria wrote a work about going to a protest group in Nova Scotia to protest the clubbing of baby of seal, but found an impoverished people who earned their meagre living by doing what they did. But I agree this world is dying, much as the prophets said it would. Beautifully written Pam, in articultely scribed couplets, and pentametric octains, well done, blessings, Roy

Well done in creating pathos and awareness of the situation with the snow leopard. It's so very hard to convince poachers who are also trying to feed their families. You're right that the market for them must be closed down! I think there are still snow leopards in the uninhabited parts of Central Asia and China.

I have said this before. No sane human should partake in any activity that would cause the extinction of any living thing...not an insect, not an animal and certainly to one another. It is a travesty...and yet to kill humans to save animals seems as horrid as humans killing humans. I don't know the answer...perhaps safe compounds until the numbers increase enough to remove them from extinction's risk? Your write brings attention to this sad situation and hopefully will cause humans to think up kill free solutions

A very well-written poem and a beautiful animal that is slayed by poachers just for their beautiful skin to show off in their homes. These people should also be skinned when they are caught.

I,love the painting. Did you do it?
Your poem needs to be on a billboard somewhere....maybe slap in the middle of snow leopard territory.
Well penned. Keep writing it makes a difference....a children's picture book wouldn't go amiss either. Kids need to learn about this and their parents need to contribute
God bless

Hi kiwijenny Yes I did do the painting. It is called Leopard Tree. The poor snow leopard is trying to blend into his environment so he will not be noticed and killed. Thank you for your lovely review and five star rating

Pam as I've said to you time and time again your work is so incredibly rich with knowledge after you research the various species that you write about and I must admit that I've never heard of the snow leopard so this is new knowledge gained. Very good research and information shared
