This is a gorgeous presentation. Excellent Shakespearean Sonnet form as you introduce the theme in the first stanza and expand it in the second. Nice turn in the ninth line as is traditionally done. A sage meaning delivered in the final couplet. I see the contest is closed. I don't know if the results have been announced, but I hope you do well.

Janet, this is lovely. Perfect sonnet in form with good abab rhyme throughout. Your iambic pentameter is spot on an the content of your sonnet is lovely, beautifully descriptive with good use of both metaphor and simile 'Their world stood still but time just seemed to fly and blur the Milky Way to ancient lace.' Very lovely. Good end couplet and the whole is a lovely sonnet. Good luck in the contest. Warm regards Dorothy xx
