Granny sees its ten minutes till nine - it's.

when another thought occurs to her'; - delete the mark before the semi-colon.

Fabulous, Misty.
In particular, I liked how you made the detectives more tangible in this chapter. They were relatable fellow humans, not just a bunch of names and titles investigating a crime like every other investigator. You brought them close to the reader in this chapter.

An old lady sets out to do harm to the underachievers that congregate at a diner. She is encouraged more when she sees that a waitress has trouble with one. She succeeds in getting one, but she wanted to do more harm than she did.
