This is a very cute 5-7-5 you have penned about the Condors and the meals on wagon wheels. You used very good words and great art work for the imagery. Blessings, teri

Lol. So that's what they called it. Fun play on "meals on wheels" which are for other people. Good use of alliteration of "fine feast" and " wagon wheels."

Dear Bill, this has a haunted look about it as if the condors high above are the souls of the slaughtered travellers from the empty wagon below. These wonderful birds are a splendid choice for artistic inspiration. They are an endangered species now, but they used to inhabit the Andes in their thousands. Vale el Condor. Man has much to answer for. cheers Cass

Well heck ya, it was the first meals on wheels program and it just so happens the old birds were condors. Times weren't easy back in those days and your captured the essence with a little bit of dark humour.

Most enjoyed.

Yep, after the Indians killed them, the corpses of the slain settlers filled them. The condors should not be blamed, for they only did what was natural for them. Scavengers gotta' scavenge, that's what they do.

Clever poem on a condor remembering his meals on wheels out West with the wagon train days! The art work is very nice with the message. Great poem, Bill!

Awesome poem and the picture works very well with it. This is well written and flows well. Your poem has a pint and very received with just three lines. I really like this and the message of the old west and how settlers in wagons became dinner for many animals as the crossed the uncharted land to create a new life. Once again very well done.

I've been watching a series on the Old West. Meals on wagon wheels has nice alliteration and is probably just the way the condors saw it. So many people lost their lives on the trek, not to mention horses. Birds taking advantage of the situation. Great artwork choice to remind us of those dangerous passages. judi
