Hi, Barbara

This is a nice interim scene, where the women finally have a heart-to-heart. I think that Susan makes a very good case for the fact that her family and Shana's are not that different in the things that really count. Very well done!

A good transition moment. I have to assume this was a necessary segment for plot development. A nice image with the snapping peas and revealing of emotional distress of the character.

It's sad when religion gets in the way of love...but it can be hard to mix religions, if both sides are serious about their own. Or if a parent is not happy with it then it's painful for everyone. I hope this can get sorted out, and I have a feeling it will somehow, in the end :))

Getting caught up again in this wonderful tale. One suggestion. Shana says "We're pretty normal, except we're Jewish." Maybe she could say "We're a pretty normal Jewish family."? Just a thought. Keep on M'lady!

A very easy to read chapter 24 part 1 of a book by Barbara Wilkey. Plenty of characters, Social differences and incidents coming through here at this stage. I was enthralled from the start and I finished the chapter very quickly. I would enjoy your book as I can tell from the diversity of the details in this chapter and how quick I read it, I probably wouldn't be able to put it down.

Hello,Barbara.

Interesting chapter here.

Suggestions, if I may: ""You don't need to. I enjoy sitting here and watching the birds while I do it." Try: "You don't need to. I enjoy sitting here watching the birds while I do it."

Also: Rewrite this partfor better clarity "Shana broke the silence that had gone on for a while. "Anderson and I haven't shared a bedroom." Pink tinged her cheeks.

Shana broke the silence. Her cheeks turned a stronger shade of pink as she said, "Anderson and I haven't shared a bedroom."

Good job. Bob

I am glad Shana had the talk with Drew's mother. Although gently said,I think some things may have gotten Shana thinking. She obviously knows how Drew feels and I think her feelings are stronger for him than she indicates. Now she has to find out how her parents think about a second mixed marriage. Of course I a getting a head of my self and will just have to wait and see like everyone else. Great job with this chapter. I enjoyed it very much.

Excellent conversation between Shana and Susan. She observes that there are several similarities between her family and Shana's. For Shana, it's the Jewish-Gentile problem that is holding her back. She seems to be thinking more of her family, her father in particular, than of herself. I think the answer will come for Shana rather quickly and she will see that she and Anderson are meant to be together. Six stars! judi

Hi, Barbara;

This little conversation gives us a great deal of insight into the familial ties Drew has in his life. It appears as though his mother wouldn't have any problems if Drew were to marry a Jewish girl...but I wonder if she realizes the children were more than likely be raised in the Jewish faith since their mother would be Jewish.

I don't think Drew cares, but will his mother? And just how much will it take to convince her orthodox father that this will be a good match?

Thank you for sharing. I also appreciate how you mentioned that most people feel this sense of propriety should be gone in the twenty-first century. The Jewish faith has been around much longer,

Obstacles lie in every path, but when it comes to the loss of a father's love, a daughter must make the right decision. Of course, if a father could claim to disown his own daughter for any earthly reason, he is wrong and will regret it. Thanks for sharing another fine chapter. :-)
