Yes, you've written this article on this point, realising and listening to sound or wise advice has been the building blocks of humility, knowing what is, and allowing God, and His chosen counsel, (others) to deal with them, although I was an alcoholic, He told me to stop my addiction to alcohol, smoking, and gambling, I did, but it was by His deliverance, no counselling, but now,all the other things, the faults, we do in partnership with others. Thanks for the kind review and thanks for the comment. The purpose of writing the book is two fold. To leave my children tangible evidence of their legacy and to shed some light and understanding on it for those who have any kind of connection to it.

A thought -- are you writing this only for those who are going through the steps or are already familiar with the steps? I found it very distracting to have the steps numbered but no reference to the specific step. For example:
"Not knowing a lot about humility, my approach to the sixth and seventh steps was still laden with a bit of ego..."
--I had to guess that steps 6 and 7 have to do with ego and humility--but having to stop and consider what you are referring to interrupts the story's flow and makes me feel like I am intruding/like an outsider.
Editing note:
"Wrapped up in the genetic stitching that weaves its way through her families predisposition for alcohol addiction...
--unless you are describing more than one family, you need to change "families" to family's as families is plural and family's is showing ownership)

The steps are listed in a previous chapter. for clarification. This is a book chapter. Thanks for reviewing.

it would still be helpful to give a clue to each step rather than have the reader flip back and forth -- just a thought.

As a recovered addic I appreciated your piece, the narrative and dialogue between characters was good, it had good word usage and a smooth flow and like the reader it was relatable to a good bit
