Hi, Craig;

This poem reminds me of some of the things C.S. Lewis speaks to in his early works. It is each man's right to believe what he will, and live his life the way he wants. No one else can judge another man's life.

Thank you for sharing another word with us,

~patty~

Thanks for the kind words, Patty. I read a lot of C.S. Lewis in my younger days - no, not the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe lol Cheers, Craig

Wow this seems to be a very challenging style poem to write with the certain required rhythm. But Id say that the pearly gates are very rewarding to look forward to after departing from this life. Great presentation.

Shakespeare said "our little life is rounded with a sleep" - that will do me :)

    Many thanks Mary,

Very good. I do believe that goodness is the key. Fire and brimstone is not anything that attracts a would-be believer or not. That's fear mongering. There are lots of good people in the world. All of them can't be damned. Marilyn

Unfortunately, I do not have a six for this wonderful poem, yet everything is perfect, as far as I am concerned - meter, enjambment, rhyme and the inspirational message all work to create a jewel.

A very well-written poem. The ones who believe in God and hope to find soul salvation in eternal life will lose nothing if it was all just a faith of imagination.

Yes, some people come by compassion naturally. They identify with those who suffer, and it bothers them for years. After fifty years or more, I still have images in my mind of things I wish I had not seen and did not know. I can't forget the horror of innocent people suffering. I don't see how anyone could just walk away. Or worse yet, laugh! And many do.

"A man's heart is the measure of his worth" is such a dynamic strong statement of a man or a woman's character. Indeed, a person is measured by the good deeds toward his fellow man. WELL SPOKEN. liberty justice

Such a positive and uplifting message, Craig. Projection of one's own guilt onto others is no way to deal with salvation.

As is your signature, fine metre and rhyme and much needed insight in this tumultuous world.

Plus the new word is going in the memory banks for future use.

Love it!

Gloria

Well Mr. Craig, I enjoyed you showing off your meter today :) Your poetry skills are being revealed. (I only have slight issue with the meter in your last line).

I enjoyed your word for the day. I love your theme. My favorite line that stands out :

- "Ignore the folk who preach damnation". - this is something I needed to hear. Thank you!

Then my next favorite moment that brought an aha moment for me:

- "Through peacefulness is hope restored,
and kindness is its own reward"

This reaffirms that I'm not alone in these very thoughts. I'm a believer, but I don't attend church. I just want to worship in my own way without lots of people telling me how it should be done.

This was a pleasure to read this morning, my friend.

Joy xx

I love your words "A man's heart is the measure of his worth." I guess I like all of the second stanza. I also like "through peacefulness is hope restored." Excellent job.
