So that's how Francis of Assisi came to be, huh, Kay?
Interesting story.
I thought Buddhists were the only ones to believe in reincarnation?
It just goes to show that no matter how old you are you can learn something new if you simply take the time to read.
Nice story...

I am returning little by little after some private issues. Good to read this. Although aimed at children, with pure delight, as an adult it asks questions as to own agenda in similar circumstances.
Enjoyed it.
My best wishes.

This is a great story. I like the image of St Francis as a wombat coming back as human. Your tale teaches the reader the importance of helping others, animals and humans. Excellent tale for all.

This chapter kept my interest. Though I haven't read any other chapters, the story makes me want to go back to the beginning. Great fantasy...I could picture the scenes and get a feel for the characters.

The story ended quite quickly though, but I can't really be a judge of that until I go back to read the rest...so excuse me if I spoke ahead of the game. : )

Hi there;

This is a lovely tale of the afterlife. The poor Warroon felt he was old and useless. However, he was reincarnated as St. Francis. The story comes together well and brings us full circle as we can see how St. Francis had the capability to speak to creatures of all kinds.

And then, he went to his REAL home,

Well done. I only wish I had a six left for you,

~patty~

This was an amazing story, for the lowly wombat to become an outstanding man, or rather a saint was a wonderful idea. The twist that you provided offered both intrigue and a sense of mystery. It was a total surprise that the Creator offered this. It was enjoyable to read, thank you so much for sharing. I loved the picture.

You are so welcome. Now I would hazard a guess that because of the wombat and your screen name you must be from Australia, I do so love meeting new friends from that part of the world. Do you mind if I become a fan and follow your writing?

Yep, Australian I am; living on the east coast of Queensland. I don't write a great deal because reviewing takes me so long! Of course you can become a fan my new friend. XXKay.

Hi there, new friend, Alie here, I am Canadian but live in the USA, so there is a considerable time difference lol.

I love Canada! Never been, from what I've seen from documentaries, sure is a beautiful country. Why did you leave?
reply by aryr on 28-May-2018
The short story is that I had better job opportunities in the USA than in Canada. I had considered Australia but if I had to get had to get back to Canada for a family emergency I didn't have quick options.

What a lovely co-mingling of stories, Kay! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now I have to put on my editor's hat and show you what I found that needs fixing (nothing serious):

Warroon waddled slowly up the path that his ancestor's had trod-no apostrophe

voice asked Bahaime what was his request? -no question mark

I will now send you back to fore-fill --fulfill

See? Not so bad. You did a great job. :) Wombat

What a marvelous addition to your wonderful book Stories of the Dreamtime. I enjoyed this one very much and you did a great job conveying the lovely message. St. Francis has always been one of my favorite saints and your story really added a wonderful and delightful side to who he really was. Great job with this one, I enjoyed it very much.

It starts out so tragic, that picture is so cute so it makes you feel so bad for wardroon initially, but the story was interesting and an entertaining read, worded well, good stuff
