This is a lovely little poem and it speaks a great truth. Life is indeed fleeting. For your comparison you have used one of my favourite things: dandelion clocks.
Thanks for sharing.

hi there,
This is a good strong piece and should be a contender for placement. the analogy is an apt one. The mind can fragment and dissipate just like the dandelion fluff over time, leaving only bits and pieces intact.
good stuff

Comment from Gloria ....
Excellent presentation, Diane. The dandelion and poem work in concert delightfully so. I hear you about elision. It's a bit of nuisance but then on the other hand a person doesn't want to get dinged for regional dialect differences.
Excellent write and best of luck to you in the contest. :)

I admired your interpretation of the Four Line poem with this thought-provoking verse. Your analogy to "dandelion fluff" and reinforcing picture are quite compelling. Best wishes in the competition- Joan

These four lines are beautiful and hold a truth about how short life is. Fragile just like a dandelion, but full of experiences that aren't easily forgotten. As quick as life seems to go by, it renews just like the dandelions, whose tiny seedlings plant themselves again.

A beautiful four-lines of poetry! I loved the photo. Dandelions hold special meaning to me (for many, I am sure). I chose one for the cover of my book. Loved your choice of word, "fluff." Thank you for sharing this little gem.

Yes Mrs. KT, I believe the only people who regret getting older are the people who feel their lives were not well spent, or may even feel their lives were meaningless. If you have memories, good memories, you have everything. Great message.

This is a very well written 4 line poem, my friend. Thank you for the explanation in the author notes. People have asked me why I use so many apostrophes. Best wishes in the contest~Debbie

Beautiful, breathtaking and lovely to read and look at... the picture is perfect, as is the pitch and tone of the poem.. a gentle reminder that our memories are shaped by experience, and our experience is absorbed by the mind and felt in the heart... thank you sharing this little wisp of delight..
