Your love for nature is always apparent in your verse, Diane. This Cinquain is ebullient! If a Song Sparrow can smile, I swear she is smiling in this photo! Perfect form and such uplifting verse!

This cinquain, Morning Song, has the proper set up and has us finally welcome the Spring after surviving the dark and cold of a cruel Winter.

Delightful -- a poem full of hope, renewal, rebirth, life and fresh starts... and the message is clear and sweet, like the song that the sparrow sings for us... should we decide to listen! Ahhh... I swear, as I am reading this, I hear birds singing outside my window.. which is such a befitting and lovely tribute to your poem!

Hello Friend,
So pleased you enjoyed!
I smiled when I read about the birds outside your home! We had the pleasure of watching a pair of Indigo Buntings visit our feeders this morning! So beautiful!
Thank you for your excellent rating and thoughtful review!

This little fellow looks very similar to the garden bird we know in Britain as the song thrush. There is a difference though I checked with Google on that. This is a very pleasant cinquain heralding the arrival of spring and summer.

Hello Jim,
Yes! I have observed the Song Thrush in Britain = Chester, our son-in-law's parents' home. Quite the song-filled gathering!
We had two Indigo Buntings frequent our feeders all day today. That was a treat!
Thank you for your excellent rating and complimentary review...

Oh, this poem is so needed. Any reader who lives in the north will clearly identify. It is so lovely to hear the birds singing. Especially the sparrow, You create lovely imagery. Your poem lifts the spirit as does the sparrow's voice. Nicely written.

A beautiful example of a cinquain - and just at the right time! We here in New England are rejoicing at the awakening of nature all around us. Birds are singing again and winter's bleak days are finally gone! Well done.

And the sparrow does have such a sweet song, too. This is a nice poem, well done. The cinquain form suits the subject well, and the picture helps it along wonderfully.
