My brother, my brother. My one over riding wish, dream goal, is to have at least one song featuring my lyrics made into an actual song that became a recording. This lyric that you just wrote is awesome and must be recorded. My one big bar to the realization of my dream is do not write music, nor do I play any kind of instrument. At my age I feel incapable of learning how, so I am stuck. This is not about me, so let me reiterate, your lyrics are outstanding. Great job!

Nomi338, I have the same challenge of not knowing how to play an instrument or read music, but I found two sites where I could submit my lyrics and win studio time, recording with a band, or a contract. So I'm going for them, age be damn.

Thank you for your generous six star review and encouragement. I appreciate it, and don't you give up either. Do you have a songwriter's group where you are at? They could be helpful. Thanks, and I wish you the best.

I started out in Detroit in 1960 with the idea that I would write lyrics for Motown. Cold feet drove me into the Air Force and by the time that I got out things had changed. Everybody wanted me to sing, but I just wanted to write. The whole story is too long, too old and much too sad. I will relate it some day in the book that is yet to be written.

The miscommunication which gave birth to this writing was right on time.
Your chosen art work makes me expect to see the butter melt right off the page.

Yes, wheels3657, I'm flabbergasted that a miscommunication gave birth to this song. Makes me wonder what other inspirations are out there. Thank you for your delicious six star review. Glad you're hungry.

Wow this really sounded like a sad love song with its refrain, more like poetry clothed in a song. I enjoyed reading this poem and how it glided easily on my mouth as I read it again and again. Thanks for sharing this lament on separation. Excellent, well done.

I think that is a great inspiration. I like the images. It probably needs to be cleaned up a little bit and you may want to consider cutting it if you want it to be a country song that you can market/sell. They like things shorter and sweeter. Good work, though.

The way to a woman's heart is through her mind
when a man is satisfied, faithful and kind.

You nailed it here. Your excellent poem sounds like a food orgy.

Oh, thank you, Thomas, for your review. The lines you quoted were the last I wrote in my cornbread orgy song.

I LOVE this. Please send this off to Nashville. :) Loved your backstory in the author's notes on how your song lyrics/poem came to be. The chorus made me smile and I want to hear it put to music. Keep me posted, Mr. Cornbread.

Oh, thank you, Cindy, for your delicious, six star review. I'm glad the chorus made you smile. I was just looking at Tennessee journals for my poems. I never thought of sending my song there. Thanks for the encouragement. I'll keep you posted.

This was fun. I loved how you took a conversation and was able to be inspired by it. I have to say that it can't be my cooking that got my husband cuz I'm a crappy cooker, I can bake though. Great job

Ha, nothing better than cornbread without butter and a little hanky panky with the Easy Bake kitchen.

All we need now is to hear you singing this amazing song, that has all the key elements of a bluegrass or country and western tune.

Excellent work and a most delightful and unique fare this lovely Monday afternoon.

Gloria

A good ol' country and western 'I done wrong and lost my lover' song lamenting that lonely feeling. Wonderful metaphor with the cornbread and butter needing each other.

It also makes me hungry. Makes me want to go to kitchen and make some cornbread. Yum.
