I could not pass up this ode to Bette Davis, and a Ghazal, too. This is a charming poem of the legendary screen actress. You did not focus on "Bette Davis Eyes" like the popular song by Kim Carnes, but on her enigmatic smile:

Calm presence and command was her stately style,
In stellar performances she gave nightly with her smile.

I love the flow, imagery and personality of your ghazal that is nearly in perfect form. The only glaring ommision is that you omitted inclusion of the author's pen name in the last couplet. This should not be hrd to fix.

Hello. I didn?t realize that the Pen name was a must. I think the deadline is over, so I?ll not be able to fix it. Thanks for the great review. I really appreciate it.

Wait, I have some good. The vote can only start with five entries. Because your poem was the fourth in this contest, the deadline has been extended another three days. Yes, the pen name is required in Ghazals. You will be able to fix it with the deadline. Happy revisions.

This is an apt tribute for Bette and she is my all time favourite actress! I adore her and have watched all her movies. She looks so young in this picture. Your poem is well rhymed and has warm sentiments, love Dolly x
