It sounds as if you have gathered a fair bit of practical wisdom with the years! Not least, the realisation "that life is what you give." Nicely penned.

Well written and excellent commentary on growing up and older. I like the use of the word "watershed" to mean "critical moment". The meaning was clear to me before I read the glossary of how you meant it. I like the title, and the additional line saying, "waiting". Although you start with, "I always thought..." It seems to me that you have found wisdom. Perhaps without being aware of it. I like the rhymes, and the flow is excellent. I like the artwork, which is fitting for the title, and the subject matter. I thought you stated your truth wisely. I enjoyed reading this poem very much. Thanks for sharing.
Take care, Jesse

A beautiful message conveyed in your
well-crafted poem.
Each day is a blessing if we accept it with joy
and look to the future with a positive attitude.
Your rhymes are pleasant to hear and your
meter is strong.
Thans for sharing these positive thoughts.

This is a very well written and six star poem in my eyes. You used very good descriptive words and lovely art work. My favorite stanza was this:
I've learned that life is what you give --
rejoicing in each brand-new day.
A sense of wonder, joy and faith
that even time cannot betray.

Is Julia Cameron the one who wrote "The Artist's Way"? I love her books. My mother gave me a copy. She is so inspiring. I can see how her course inspired your poem. The center stanza is a key one which shows you still have lingering questions despite the wisdom age is supposed to bring:
Though I have healed some ancient wounds
and reveled in each watershed --
discerning questions I have sought
still seem a mys'try in my head.
The rest of your poem deals with your search for purpose (something that I have searched for myself), and sharing what you learned in life:
I've learned that life is what you give --
rejoicing in each brand-new day.
A sense of wonder, joy and faith
that even time cannot betray.
This is a wonderful poem well-expressed. Your message is so strong that I did not notice your smooth rhymes until my second read.
Congratulations for finishing the course and thank you for sharing your poem and wisdom.

Thank you Andre for your thoughtful ad encouraging review.
Julia Cameron's book "The Artist's Way" was what got me started writing. I have since read other books she's written like this one "It's Never too Late to Begin Again". You are right, she is inspirational. I still do my "Morning Pages" and an occational "Me Date". She definitely has some ideas to cultivate creativity. In this book, one of the tasks was to write our memoirs in 12 segments which was quite a challenge but also very rewarding.
Thank you again my friend.

Great way to summarize what you've learned in the class with this beautiful poem!
I especially liked the last stanza:
"I've learned that life is what you give --
rejoicing in each brand-new day.
A sense of wonder, joy and faith
that even time cannot betray."
I have read a couple of Cameron's books. She's a wonderful mentor in the creative process.

I don't think any of us are truly in a place wisdom-wise, we think we should be, too many conflicting hang-ups leave us somewhat confused instead of "wise". But since I've known God, even though in my mind it hasn't happened, but these things keep taking me by surprise, come via my mouth and pen. Not that we ever "arrive" but we get closer. Beautifully written, open and honest, there's always mercy everyday Janet, I liked your well written, reflective, and humble post, smooth, deftly crafted and rhymed in abcb rhyming and tetrametric quatrains, well done, blessings Roy
