A very well-written poem. Most people do get wiser when they age and become better people than they were before. I only discover writing poetry after retirement and I never enjoyed anything better except for my music.

You have found a new beginning - nice for internal warmth. But I suspect it evokes a bit of group think that stifled imagination. I bet reliance on what you personally know will better drive - I suspect book goes there.

As you get older you realize that some of the things you think are wisdom, are more of a hope for wisdom. One of my sayings, "As I got older, I expected things to become simpler... they did not". Yes, we're all going or will be going through this transition. But my thoughts are in my later years, "My life didn't turn out the way I expected, but it still turned out pretty good". Best wishes. I enjoyed your poem.
