It used to be dangerous in the UK during certain religious campaigs in history to fight against the religion of the day, and when Henry VIIII turned his back on Catholicism, meant there were religious wars. Is is a sad indictment in all history that people's freedom to believe in what they want is questioned. A good acrostic, an interesting new word and a questioning write, love Dolly x

The pre-reformation period, and before, was not a good time to be anything other than Catholic in England. Thanks for the thoughtful review, Dolly. Cheers, Craig

Hello Craig,

I see you once again reached into that treasure trove of yours and came out with a gem of a poem.

And once again you sprinkled your signature style that comes up with amazing imagery, unique and vivid descriptions and words I'd never hear of if not for you, lol!

Hello, excellent word, I always love the name of that book. It is so evocative. I enjoyed your poem and found it engaging and well-written. I have no suggestions for improvement, it is interesting and thanks for sharing it, Ana.

This one goes rather well with your current series of prose pieces, which I need to catch up on. Life has been a bit hectic recently. I'm reading an interesting book at the moment, "Seven Types of Atheism" by John Gray, which gives an wide historical perspective on atheism, and a refreshing pessimistic view of humanity!

    Hi Tony,
I guess I'm among those who has a view of humanity leaning towards the pessimistic (and perhaps judgmental). It's not that I particularly want to have that perspective, but I try to be realistic, and that seems to me to be where we are at. The book sounds interesting, I'll check it out. Cheers, Craig
