LOL. Okay, you got me. I must confess, I'm grinning ear-to-ear because I think you wrote this poem for me.

Speaking of systems, the FanStory alphabetical system for members' names isn't correct either, or at least it's not consistent. I don't always get time to return-review immediately, so I went looking for you under "C", for C D Richards. No luck.

I'm definitely there when I look, which is good, because otherwise I might worry that something had happened to me, or I'd run off and left the site! Glad it made you smile :) Craig

Well this is quite a lyrical read. The cadence in this is a favorite of mine. It brings me back to my youth and reading poems for children. Kind of Robert Louis Stevenson's "The Land Of Counterpane". Thanks for this...Dorinda

A very well-written poem about the library system of arranging books in a library that only a genius are able to clearly understand. Library in Afrikaans is Biblioteek.

Thanks very much for the kind comments, and the glimpse into the Afrikaans language, Sandra. I believe the same root (biblio) is where the term "Bible" came from - for it, too, is a collection of writings..

You sound like my dear sweet daddy. He always had a "Word of the day" for us children. He would have us look it up and use it in sentences any time we could. It made for some very happy laughable days. Great humor here Craig! Nancy

That sounds like a fun game to play, Nancy. There is a game show I've seen on TV -- I think it might be the British show QI -- where the host occasionally awards extra points for working an obscure word into the conversation without it sounding contrived. Many thanks for the fine review. Craig

A super fun poem, self-conflating while also dissing on the Dewe system too... tongue n cheek and entertaining, set on the theme of library structure, and the woe of breaking the code. Kind of brings me some gladness of having a librarian to help find the books desired. (Else I've been pretty spoiled to have at least computer kiosks to tell me where to find the book or subject I want)

when locating a book, I don't know where to look,
(in this line, the second half speeds up in the pace to fit it in. Took me a few tries to put the locating and don't know where, into the same bucket of time, but once I did, I liked it.

Thanks again for a great review, Turtle. I understand the comment about the meter in that line. When I went back to check it after reading your comment, I stumbled over it myself on the first attempt. Then, on the second, I used the rhythm I obviously had in my head when I wrote it, and it fitted fine. I think there's something to be said for hearing a poem read by its author, the way he or she hears it. Of course, we can't do that here unless the author posts a sound track - which I have seen some do, perhaps for that very reason :) Many thanks, Craig

CD, this is a nice entertaining poem with a pinch of educational with the word - bibliothetic. I sure hope I use it in a sentence now that I have read it. Thank you for sharing this enjoyable read. ~DD

What was the point in the Dewey system I wonder? A well-rhymed poem using your new word. I would have thought the word had a reference to the bible, but this is not the case. Libraries need librarians as you can never find the book you are looking for! Love Dolly x

Thanks very much, Dolly. I've never seen the point in a system you can't use without a chart that explains it, either. Cheers, Craig

"designed to ensure minimum likelihood of finding any volume of interest." LOL! I remember when we had to learn this and use it. UGH! How did we manage? Thanks to the internet, all that is behind us. :)

haha Craig. I love the Dewey Decimal System. I can find any book I want with just those numbers. Good job on your poem. I like the internal rhyming as well as the end rhyming. Good job with this odd word. Jan
