You did an excellent job with your free verse. The subject of child abuse has been around probably since the beginning of time and I fear it's one that will never go away, as your last stanza sadly reveals.
The picture that you have selected really adds to your heartbreaking words...Take care...Bill

This is a strong piece, the imagery is harsh, and the reality to fresh.
You have captured the downward spiral of abuse.
As I read through the stanzas I can't help feeling like I am in a circle, the more you go around the bigger the current, sucking the child life out of our world.
Devastation is huge the count is high, a well written emotive piece

This is a stark reminder of how hold abuse can affect those suffering from it and even as adults they are scarred for life, a very sad and resonating write, love Dolly x

This is a very powerful poem friend,it is beautifully crafted and touches on the forever pain a young abused child will endure through life.
There are many satazas to admire but I think this one stood out to me...
and
woefully,
when cowed and scared
a child's frail hands
debone itself
in maniacal despair.

You've described so well the horrors of child abuse, especially in these lines:
spewing an emotional storm
as the beaten soul
falls further down
and sinks deeper.
the abused child's torture
in the devil's vile dungeon.

A powerful and poignant poem on child abuse. You used graphic imagery to create this tragic state of affairs. Your artwork is incredible.
flesh dehydrates
in deflated dreams,
brain atrophies
in aborted hopes,
This gave me child!

A powerful and thought provoking poem... discussing such an important topic.. one that is often not talked about much today on the news.. it isn't glamorous enough, or something people often don't like to talk about.. but it's nonetheless there.. abuse is abuse is abuse.. and it's nasty, and it is a poison that kills the spirit of hope, faith and innocence... there are sooo many children in particular, who are sold as sex slaves, or married when they are a child, who have no say in when they end their childhood and when they have to take on the monumental weighty burden of being an adult.. it makes me think of the 'Women of Juarez' -- about all of the women in Mexico that have gone missing, who are killed, who are abused, who are disregarded and who have been forgotten.. Thank you for speaking about this horrific problem.. and for bringing it to our attention.. for the more we talk about it, the sooner, we can get to the business at hand of solving the problem(s) rather than just 'wringing our hands' and then changing the channel. The picture is perfect for your poem -- it captures the degradation, demoralization and demise of the beauty and innocence of our most vulnerable in our society.. women, old people and children..

Your free verse poem does flow very well. I enjoyed reading it, and more than that, I loved the topic you chose to write the poem about. All of it done with such emotional passion I could feel the abuse:
painfully,
the bottled hatred
collects dust and dirt
spewing an emotional storm
as the beaten soul
falls further down
and sinks deeper.

A very well-written free verse poem about child abuse that become the sickness of society. It seems that it is going on for many years and will continue until the end of time.
