Oh to be young and in love again. Actually this expresses the way I still feel about hubby after fifty-one years of marriage and his declining memory. Excellent line breaks. Assonance with deep and need; alliteration with memory's and make. Consonance with 's' sound.

First, congratulations on your your honor as Recognized Writer of the Month. I have always enjoyed your work. As for the poem above, I found it very moving, in fact, the ending took my breath away. I looked up cinquain and found there are several variations. I couldn't find one that matched yours, but this does have five lines and the syllables per line were 2,4,5, 7,2. Whatever the variation, I found the poem a realistic rendering of loss, an epiphany, and acceptance. I'm not sure I sense the hope that you described in your introductory sentence. Marge

Ooooh. I do like the feeling this describes. Memories can send us adrift in our minds. It's a positive realization that just the "us" relationship is all that was needed to figure life out.
