Really neat poem! Makes me want to go to the library right away (though of course I always love to go to the library). You sum up a very large spectrum of the endless knowledge that fills a library. I love the very last stanza "The library is where I study for a test. And it is there that I always do my best." I think those last lines are very true.

I love your reasons why you go to the library and what you do. Most people don't look around that much, but when you do, you find a whole new world. I agree that they are wonderful places.

I loved the library! As a kid we would walk to our tiny library from school, we had to cross the railroad tracks and everything. Was a big deal. I always got Dr. Susses or the Big Red Crayola. That was always the best day. I haven't been in years. Ours here is far away, but sister downloads books from it. Nice they do that. This is a very well done poem and lots of good memories.

Some think libraries are obsolete now that we can Google everything. He library offers a place for communities to come together, many offer book clubs or visiting author presentations, most have puzzles and ctosswords...and a full contingent of music, art and DVD's to lend....also fantastic children's resource centers. I go yo the library minimum of once a week...m

Speaking to our head librarian she said attendance is way down over the last five years....which is why libraries are expanding their services to computer labs, community meeting rooms and the like.....
