This has multileveled meaning. It is clearly a great metaphor of life. You keep the reader in mystery with your step by step revealing of what we will eventually experience. Although it is one step at a time. We have this myth that we will finally arrive. The reader was hoping you would affirm that and yet you led us beyond our resting on our laurels to plunge downward to begin where we began with all kinds of new strengths and wisdom. Well written.

Thank you thank you for your insightful review. Not many have nailed it such as you have. This happens to be one of my favorites, can you have favorites that you write? lol

Hello - Well, what can I say. You describe this challenge so well - a really exciting well told free verse. At first I thought you were climbing a mountain. But it is a 'Waterslide' - sounds exciting. Extremely well worded - 'Bravery attacks the fear' - good personification here. The whole of this piece is well done and deserves a 6. Warm regards Dorothy xx

thxs for such an awesome review. I'm glad I could take you on this climb and that you enjoyed this one. I love that you like the way I word things, some say I'm too politically incorrect with the usage of words. What do they know eh? lol

I would never compare my life to the highest water slide, but yet, life is so full of ups and downs, it is hard, it feels like you are not gonna make it and then you feel like you will make it and then you feel for sure you won't and Suddenly you realize you will and you did. The excitement knowing you did it makes you so proud. Sherman541

Hello, there's a great sense of relief at the end when he finally does it, shrieking afterwards. Good poem with lots of great descriptions. I noticed no errors and found it a joy to read and review, Ana.

Oh I experienced this! Not a swimmer, but more not a wimp, I allowed myself to be nagged, challenged, dared and forced by humiliation to climb that ladder of fate. So right! Once up there, there is no "down ramp"...except to sit yourself down and give your fate up to the twists and turns of a plastic slide that's seen better days...
and at the end? Unless you have sprouted wings you are so going to slap down with a burn and sting that reminds you of a spanking of toddlerhood. Nonetheless, miraculously, there is no headless monster holding you under and you bounce up, head above water and screaming like a Viking warrior! Sucha true account I had to relive it...and now I have post traumatic near drowning syndrome...and a sudden urge to exert revenge on mean friends! LOL!

Humorous and very true telling of an adventure into the unknown. This free verse poem has enough rhythm and internal rhyme to make it flow very smoothly. First, this poets words put you right in the middle of the action. Yes, where were we going? It didn't matter, we were on an adventure. The striving, sweating and climbing we experienced it right then with those delightful words. Then swoosh, right down the water slide. Second, Well Done!

I'm so glad you stopped by. First; for your awesome comments and review, but mostly and secondly; I need to ask you a few things about Tenerife.
How expensive is it to stay there for a week or two? In a hotel or kitchenette type of room, at a 2-3 star place? What is the money comparison to the American dollar or English pound? what is the best airport to land at that will be central for me to travel about on a bus?
I'm almost positive, that I want to make it a part of my visit over there in June when my daughter has her baby. I want to take a lot of photos of plants and birds and beaches. Is it cheaper to fly from England or Madrid to Venerife?
Sorry for asking so many questions, but you are the only one I've ever met from there

Well if you are flying to Tenerife from England, you will need to book with Ryanair, they are the best and the cheapest, also EasyJet fly direct to Tenerife. You need the south airport which is the best part of the island for tourists with the best weather. It is very inexpensive to stay in Tenerife and the food is also very cheap. It is the euro here, so go on line and see how the exchange rate is Dollar to Euro. They do not take the English pound here, but you can exchange any currency over here without a problem. The island is very friendly and your best best is to stay in Los Cristianos or Costa Adeje, two of the best and easiest places to get to. The beaches are fine, the flowers and trees are beautiful and the weather is gorgeous most of the time. I can recommend H10 hotel which is pretty central, Arona Grande and You should find some self catering accommodation without any problem on-line. Good luck, love Dolly x x x

Dolly, thxs so much for all the info. It's always best to get info. from someone that lives where you want to visit. Sounds like the right place to sum up my life's travels, for I don't expect to be able to fund any more trips abroad.
One more thing, my daughter has reservations for me travelling by myself, what is your opinion for me being in Tenerife by myself? I can console her with your opinion.

You will be perfectly safe on your own in Tenerife, it is one of the safest places on the planet! Obviously you have to exercise caution wherever you go on your own. I live here on my own and travel on my own too. Tenerife is full of elderly holiday makers! Many Brits retire here too! Best of luck, and let me know when you plan to visit? love Dollyx

thxs for the confidence and I will let you know when I'm leaving here for England. I have just looked into another isl. La Palma it looks interesting. Maybe a quiet week to do some writing there and a week in Tenerife. I'll definitely let you know, maybe we can do a lunch?
