What a creative little story poem! That would be clever to create a sock monkey out of old socks and I especially liked that they were together again. I have made puppets out of them but never an entire sock monkey.

Love this...at last a relatable poem about the perpetually lost sock....and oh how
they accumulate! Also love the creative idea of making these orphan socks
into a fun and delightfully charming sock monkey! Great for kids and grandkids
who are always loosing socks! Thanks for sharing....have a fabulous day.!
Best wishes, Ronni

What a cute ending for the sock. And yet it was a new beginning, just a redefining or its role. But this poem is so much more and just about a new sock puppet. This is a great metaphor for any reader who is going through, has gone through such or will in the future transcend who they are now. You communicated the message well. As my thinking motivated by this poem, moves on I realize this redefining is a way to accept change. Then I peeked at the explanation & discovered that's just what you said. Two things, I did not cheat, and you wrote this so well I easily got your message. We can hope this will bring healing to the readers whose children are leaving, or a partner is leaving or a new job needs to show itself....and this reader who has recently retired. Thank you. Well written.

this is so cute. and the missing sock as a sock monkey - very original.
so glad he/she found her mate and what a surprise.
this is clever - it might even entice you to make a sock monkey?
I liked the sock's thoughts on its loneliness. Really a good idea.

Lol this is a very creative poem I have so many one socks in my drawer I never imagined what they were feeling lol the struggle is real "one socks" I thought I was the only one who has a bunch of one socks. I really liked this and I am just getting into writing after 8 or 9 years I heard this is a safe positive place to share ones work.

lol. I need this whimsical piece. I clicked on the title thinking of the pain that transforming can bring. Yet this is a small pain. Still we can become a better person by helping the loner find its mate.

Love that picture and those socks!! Isn't that the way is goes, into the wash and oops where did it go. You go to fold them and there is always at least one that got away. One must wonder, when you put 10 socks in the washer and then into the dryer, how can it be, that only 7 or 9 come out. Sherman541

Yes, the dryer seems to eat our socks! Thanks for a great review. Elaine

You are welcome and I know what you mean sometimes it is the washer here and not always the dryer LOL :)

This speaks a nice metaphoric poem about a pair of socks, when one socks remain in drawer, other socks feels isolated, other socks on transformation makes the pair to feel good again; well said, well done. DR ALCREATOR

This is a super cute poem and very creative. Where do those darn socks go when you put them in the dryer? I don't understand it. A sock monkey is a wonderful second life for a lone sock. Thanks for sharing this fun poem.
