I like the last stanza the best. In drunken flight , as is my heart , set free. Pretty cool. I did not see any errors, it reads smoothly, it flows very well, and I enjoyed the read. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful photo to compliment your heartfelt poem. You must be like me, when I see a critter in trouble, I try to help them back to normality. Well written my friend.

I can related to saving a bee like this. It is a lovely description of the process that the bee went through until she was able to fly away. I imagine she was very grateful to you. I love the ending about honey for your tea. How fitting.

Hi Tony A really descriptive sonnet and one could feel the bees determination to fight ,survive and fly away from you lines all rhyming nicely and with a tight meter well executed . A nice save Cheers Christine

Cheers, Tony;
-What a very congenial, calm and an expression of a good deed Where what I felt from reading this sonnet.
-The technical aspects of this sonnet of iambic pentameter and proper brining of the octave rebuttal quatrain and couplet were all done convincingly well without any hiccups in the syntax and grammar of your poem.
-Not one of your rhyming words wavered as each one were contingent and supportive to the meaning and concept of one line. This, therefore, may be enchanted to flow fluidly and and the conceptual theme to be easily understood.
This theme of congeniality and compassion are Excellent.
-Fantastic close-up of the Bee is so definitive and sharp and very supportive for your poem.
-Thanks for sharing this, Tony, take care and have a good one.

Hi Tony--
That's fun. So often attempts to save wild critters fails. Glad for your sympathy and its splendid outcome. Sounds a bit like it made your day? Funny how that can happen.

Best
Jeff

Did this really happen? Because if so kudos to you for saving the bee. I have read articles recently that say that the bee population is decreasing in greater numbers than ever before.this can't happen! Bees are an important part of our ecosystem, not to mention the honey : ) Thanks for sharing.

A lovely sonnet about saving a bee from drowning and the satisfaction it brings the poet--as understood by one who used to save ladybugs from drowning as a child. It's the tiny kindnesses that reveal the true nature of a person's soul. Hope you enjoyed your tea. :) Nancy

A very well-written poem/story about the huge task the little bees have to produce enough honey for a spoonful in our tea to enjoy under the tree in the shadow.

Thanks, Sandra, for your kind words about my poem. Yes, it is astounding how much work a bee has to do to produce a teaspoon of honey! Best wishes, Tony

Rather like an English sonnet. This tells a heartening tale, for there are headlines about a scarcity of bees in the northern latitudes, a disturbing thing indeed for most farmers. Excellent post.

Thanks, Red, for your kind words. I'm not sure that my whimsical action will have done much to bolster the flagging ranks of bees. We do, however, avoid using any pesticides on our property, which is probably more effective. All the best, Tony
