How sobering to think of the olive Branch being dropped in the mist of War. The symbol of peace that is truly needed in this world today. If only it could stop the hate that promotes Wars. Nevertheless What a beautiful piece that you've written here and beautiful artwork of the dove of peace.

I enjoyed reading "Olive Branch". It is a good example of a sedoka poem and I adored the picture. I enjoyed the theme of your poem and it is so applicable in these times of turmoil.

It's amazing to me that in several thousand years of war, diplomacy and retoric, our attitude on how we deal with other countries has not changed. Weapons have become so much more sophisticated but we have learned nothing. You have a good message here and your syllable count is right on, so I wish you good luck in the contest.

Great picture selection that complimented the poem that has lots and lots of imagery and emotions. The reader understood and enjoyed the poem.

This is a vivid poem with the metaphor of the dove with an olive branch that slips away. I like the "s" words in the first few lines-silence, slice, seamlessly. It gives the first few lines a relaxing feel along with the idea of stars. The second part reflects the reality of war in the world.

I am a fan of this Sedoka style...like two haiku's in one. Your words are powerful and carry a wonderful message. Great use of the words to explain war with the hope of peace (dove/olive branch) symbolism. This is a solid entry into the contest. Good luck.

Amazing poem with war and peace. I like the dove
and the image of the olive branch slipping away.
Now, we have bombs shot at Syria in hope of peace
and stopping the killing of youth by our leaders.
Great witness. flylikeaneagle

I think this is a good entry for the Sedoka writing prompt.
Your verse has a message of the disruption of war.
Well done and good luck to you with this one in the competition.

Very nice Sedoka and true to form. Peace is unreachable for when someone smiles holding out their hand, many time a knife is in the other hand. War is the language of the world's rulers. Take with force what someone else owns. Sad and many times true. This is a good entry for the Sedoka poetry contest.
