I have fallen behind, but I am glad I did not miss this thought-provoking 5-7-5. I liked the analogy of the singing "rhymes". Here's to more "uncaged" thoughts! Best wishes in the competition and have a productive week- Joan

This 5-7-5 about birds, Uncaged Thoughts, has the proper set up and compares the freedom and beauty of the birds to the thoughts and words that an author sets before the world.

Uncaged thoughts is an interesting, well-written, meaningful poem and I enjoyed reading it. It flows well with a great message contrasting between birds and thoughts taking flight. Birds soar and thoughts take flight in the mind.

Hi :)
Your entry meets the criteria for the writing prompt.
- 5-7-5 syllable count
- about a bird / birds
I like this very much. Your presentation is also nice, but the words (for me) are perfect standing alone. Very well done and good luck in the voting booth.
Regards, Debra :)

I think this is a good entry for the 5-7-5 Bye Bye Blackbird writing prompt.
Your short verse tells of thoughts and birds singing when uncaged.
Well done and good luck to you with the competition.

Hello, good entry for the bye bye blackbird competition, your imagery really works and I love the quote. Big fan of the Persian poets, somehow they manage to capture emotion and passion in a way that formalist Western poets don't, or rarely. They are 'uncaged' as you say. I love Hafiz especially. I noticed no errors and best of luck, Ana.

This speaks the feeling and emotional excitement about uncaged thoughts that fly like blackbird singing in rhymes and rhythms of song indifferently or innocently being uncared about its song listened by anyone or not; well said, well done. DR ALCREATOR

Well said. I like the quote and art you chose as well. Without the tethers of judgements and consequences we are free to express our thoughts--thanks for sharing yours.

What an interesting juxtaposition of our thoughts and our feathered friends here in this 5/7/5 Bye bye Blackbird - both capable , metaphorically, of transporting us to other interesting dimensions
