Well-said, Estory. This poem reminds me of the Book of Genesis.

As you creatively indicated, what really matter is the spirit on earth and beyond.

This is a thought-provoking and memorable poem.

Thank you for sharing it.

Thanks again for this six star review and all your comments supporting this poem. It is very much a Garden of Eden kind of image, but also a romantic one, though a bit convoluted. Here, the pastoral is supplanted by the orchestrated designs of man, which are worn away by nature. So it is a poem of the triumph of the natural, and the failure of man to wall it in, shape it. estory

This is a very good sonnet that you have written. Just a note on the presentation. It would look better if you had a space line between the first and second stanza. The theme and sentiment were very good as were the author's notes. Well done!!

story... I am not much for exact punctuation or poetry form... although I am thirsting to learn... I am in love with words and yours were perfectly sewn into the fabric of the circle of life. Beautifully written. yours, diana

This is beautiful, estory. I really liked the ending. Like all good poets, you build up to your ending with each stanza. That is what I try to do. Besides the ending, this is my favorite part. Thank you for sharimg

"Yet the long, slow waves of time break them down,
Tower by tower, wall by stubborn wall;
Buttresses, gables, roofs brought to the ground,
Cracked, crumbled, worn, broken by their fall. "

Well said.
I like how you describe the building of man's worth as clay bricks that can then be torn down.
Our arrogance tells us that we are above nature, we are not.
Thank you for sharing this.

I like this style of writing poetry. The poem has lots and lots of imagery and it is easy to read and understand which makes it a joy to read.

So wise and true...
So sad we cannot see it, how little our footprint in nature is worth compared to
God's intentions....
The message may not ever get through our thick heads, one can only pray....
