Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

This is a well written poem written from the perspective of a well known drug available in our society called cocaine. You've captured the lure and power of cocaine. You show insight into the way it destroys families and causes murder and destruction in our society. I certainly don't think all writings need to be about good and beauty. I think it is well written and I like it. I like the flow and rhythm of your poem. The black background and picture help in your presentation of "You Know My Name".

Thank you so much for the fantastic review and big sixer, Cheryl. I really appreciate that you saw the work that went into the piece. I tried to add all the aspects of this terrible drug. I dearly appreciate the gracious stars and kind words, Cheryl. Thank you again. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

OMG I am almost in tears because I have a son that is trapped and in denial about his cocaine habit. This drive home to me and believe me you got my vote on it because I can relate to it experiencing the different tramatic things that have happened with the episodes of my son. He is 45 years old and has been on this roller coaster nightmare for 20-plus years I am just so sad because I can't even let him know where I live right now he is sitting in the county jail possibly on his way to a long prison term for this sickness that he's gotten entrapped to. My life has been endangered because of his lifestyle. I can go on and on but I'll stop it too much. Thank you for sharing.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Mary. It's such a horrible drug. We're in the same boat with my wife's brother. He just got out of jail and we won't let him know where we moved to because of it. His problem is crack. The same thing though. I am truly sorry for you, Mary. I pray he'll kick it. Thank you for the review and support. I hope it gets better. You're in my prayers.

This is a very well written poem for the A Different Perspective contest. You have it right about the cocaine. It is nasty and deadly. I was going to say satan as it truly is his work. You used very good descriptive words and very good imagery with the art work. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

A very honest depiction of the power that cocaine does have over the lives of many. This is an interesting and creative choice for the different perspective poem. Good luck to you in this contest.
