I love the photo and the background is really helping developing the theme. The word the seems kinda strange though. It doesn't seem to make the poem smooth overall. Good read!

This is pretty however, as many of the other reviewers have said "the" is an awkward word to use in this. For that reason alone, I doubt if it will place let alone win and that is a real shame as you sir have a talent that reads and resolves in your reader a long time after we leave the piece.

Good luck in the contest. Do you feel that "the" actually truly belongs there? Perhaps another word somewhere else? The picture adds a lot to the poem. The poem has a lot of possibilities, a whole lot. I like the message. Thanks for sharing.
