How did I miss this one? It was as if they were playing the children's game. If I close my eyes tight enough & long enough I'll be invisible. You created the sense of suspense just right. What a nice ending. Sometimes those Karmic things do happen. Once again you write with a realistic tone. The behaviors all have good follow-through. You characters all stay consistent to their role. Well written.

This was a great story-well written and one could feel the fear. It was palpable. Excellent story progression and background and I, for on, was glad Joe was gone!

Thank you so very much for the 6 stars. I am thrilled. I'm afraid this story is way too common.

This is wonderful! A great evocation of the circumstances and state of mind of an abused woman and child. I was cringing the whole time the knocking and pounding were going on. Good job!

Perfect ending to a sad and all too common place story.... having gone through domestic abuse myself I know how damaging and horrifying it is. Those who get out and escape to freedom are the lucky ones, but the scars remain always. You have my vote for the contest. Thank you.

Thank you. I know the scars and scares of always wondering when he will find you. My house was a safe place for my friend and her children. They have all come so far from that dark time. (hug) for bravery and surviving.

Very well written, plus the layout and the scheme are superb. I like the way that it's the cop that shows up at the back door and how he helps the woman and her daughter. It is even more brilliant how the husband dies at the cause of a drunk driver and then the woman marries the cop. Great storyline. Thanks for sharing

I think this is a good entry for the Sentence writing prompt.
Your story of a mothers fear is well told and it had a lovely ending.
Well done and good luck to you with the competition.

This speaks a story about violence, death but author raises a question in course of accident on way; that who it was; somebody or something invisible; well written, well done; good luck with the contest. B A CHANGE INSPIRER-WRITER--DR ALCREATOR
