My dear Vance, I love the sincerity of faith and surrender in the tone and tenor of this fine prayer poem. It is well voiced and has a sense of authenticity and genuine depth. It also would flow well, read aloud, if properly punctuated. Some of your choices in that arena make the flow choppy, thus i suggest:
Please guide me(,) GOD,(;) now(,) alas, my life is yours to steer(.)
I promise I shall walk only,(no ,) the path that you may define
Without a bit of fear, but I'll need your light if darkness comes
And to know you(r) hand is near. Even should I slip and fall, I will stand
And walk again, and never rest until the day that I am free from sin(.)
My heart, my mind, my flesh, and soul, I shall now devote to thee(;)
Without regret of compromise, I will that this shall be. So please(,)
Dear GOD, receive my heart, my promise, and my soul,(.) t(T)o be with you
Every moment of my life, from now shall be my goal. AMEN(.)
With above suggestions, it would read:

Amen. What a beautiful prayer to surrender all to the Lord and seek His will in all of life. It should be our prayer all the time every day but how to stay focused when at every turn things in life disturbs our focus?

My answer is exactly...THIS PRAYER...as the only way to peace is to be in constant contact with GOD and realize that is TRULY POSSIBLE as indeed, God will speak to you if you simply believe it to be so and open your mind .... I consider myself a pretty spiritual person, so I found a lot from your poem that spoke to me personally. I used to read the bible a lot but somewhere along the road I got older and started getting too much outside influence and questioning entire passages that seemed so contradictive.
When somebody I really loved with all my being became incurably sick, my anger at God - the Why ME? - caught up with me and took a long time to finally leave.
