This is a nice rhyme scheme: abacadaba. I never did this type of poem. Great title and picture for your story. The story is so cute. It's typical of a child looking for her socks, and can't find them in the right order. Such disappointment for any child!

Great structure and energy in this poem. I like what you say about the little girl. You will always find her there on the stairs when nothing is going right. How tender and sweet? Good job Dammomy.

Hi, Yvonne;
Such a great poem. I could see a little boy sitting midway on the stairs, clutching a different colored sock in each hand.

The rhyme and rhythm were perfect.

Thank you for this wonderful review. The form is a little odd, but it was fun working it out.

A very common predicament. I occasionally have lost socks, and I swear they never turn up. What does happen to them? Sounds like this poor girl has three socks missing. If she had socks all the same color, it wouldn't make so much difference if one goes missing. Very cleverly done. I like the idea of the girl setting on the stairs when she has a problem. judi

Thank you for this delightful review. I solved the mystery of the missing sock. I pin mine together for the wash.

You're very welcome. That sounds like an excellent idea. I don't think I've lost any lately. judi

You've done a fantastic job with this poetic form, Yvonne. It reads most naturally and I wouldn't even recognize the very complex rhyme scheme if you hadn't mentioned it.

And what a perfect theme to match, I mean not match erm ... you know what I mean.

Great job with this!

Lol. Thanks for this fun review. I'm so happy it read smoothly for you. It was hard for me to write because it seemed a little off. But I'm game for anything . . . once. 8-)

Hi Yvonne, this is a fun poem you've written. Great job on the rhyme scheme. I think we've all had that day where we can't find matching socks anywhere.

This is adorable. He may have two sox, but he doesn't have a pair. Sometimes I am in the same boat, so I wear two different ones--fulfills my creative need. Marilyn

That's becoming the style. You're fashionable. It solves the problem for those of us who can't find the mate to the sock we have in hand. Thanks, Marilyn.

There are two great (and, I think unrelated) images in this poem. One is that of someone just sitting on the stair, going neither up or down, in response to frustration, fatigue, or just because they need a break. I know I do that - what an interesting observation to focus on in your poem.

The second image is the unmatched socks - another universal experience. I have a basket where I put unmatched socks, thinking that their mates will one day return from wherever it is that they have run away to. Amazingly, the basket gathers more and more socks - but still no matches.

A great ode to life's little things.

Thank you, Mark, for this great review. I've solved the unmatched sock problem by pinning mine together. However, save those mismatched socks. It's becoming the fashion now.

Have you looked at your feet? Whenever Carol loses her reading glasses I tell her they're on her head. Usually, they are. I'll bet if you look, you'll find a pair of socks on your feet. If they don't match, you've found two pair.

LOL. I never have trouble finding my socks. I pin them together for the washing machine. No lonely sock left behind.

This is really a whole lot of cute! Children are so funny sometimes, especially when they're really young trying to dress themselves. I like everything about this. Nice job and well done.

check under the bed, behind the rad, even check in the dog's bed.

This was so funny. I think we can all relate to this one my friend. Sock manufacturers employ sock gremlins to make sure we have to keep buying new ones..

Sorry for lack of reviews, just over a bout of flu
