What a sad little girl sitting on the stairs. Having one red and one brown sock, she must surely have another pair just like them! LOL. This is a cute little poem, Yvonne, I have a drawer full of odd socks, and have no idea where their partners are. I did enjoy this, my friend. You met the challenge well. :) Sandra xx

Thank you, Sandra. Did you mean to give me a four? If so, do you have any suggestions for me?

I've solved the lone sock dilemma. I pin mine together for the wash.

Aw Sorry Yvonne, it must have jumped after I'd select the 5, no 6s left. It does that so many times, and I feel awful! I must get into the habit of checking it. I'm really sorry! :(

Please don't worry. I've done it myself several times. Thank you for changing that. I completely understand how it happened.

Awe, bless, Yvonne, this is just too sweet. The little boy is at a loss how to find a matching pair of socks, being scolded by his mum. I love it. What a wonderful little poem for the potlach. A hug. Ulla:))
I'm finally moving into my new home next week. There's been so much work to do. I've got lovely friends who've helped me a lot and still do.

I'm doing okay, thank you. A lot of back problems and pain but, they are working on it.
I published a book with amazon just recently 134 poems, I guess twice as many as the usual poetry book!haha My 34th wedding anniversary is Saturday.I am a volunteer for Hospice and our town's art gallery, so along with my writing and art (paintings -abstract) I am quite busy. I guess that is enough for now. How about you, dear?

Congratulations on getting your book out.

I'm doing well for an old lady. lol. I don't know if I ever told you but I have lupus and avascular necrosis. The AV causes my bones to die and I've had multiple replacements. I'm due to have my shoulder done soon. Pretty soon, I'll be a walking erector set. LOL

I'm sorry you're having such trouble with your back. That is such misery. Keep in touch.

I do recall now your troubles now that you mentioned, so I am sure thinking of you, and my problems weigh tiny to yours. i wish you lots a luck on your shoulder. My back is a pisser though, but ii have had two shots so far, and I feel I need one more in the middle of my lower back for the arthritis and i should be quite normal. (for some time) I start working tomorrow at the art gallery (volunteer) and I am taking a book i keep putting off written by a philosophy professor from berkeley its title is Assholes! KLOL I really want to read about myself LOl See ya around, Dear Tony

Now days that's not such a problem. Kids just wear them mismatched. It's a trend apparently. I loved the setting of this poem and the humor. Wonderful job. Thank you for sharing your work.

Thank you. I'm so glad you did. The new rage, I've found out, is wearing mismatched socks. I don't think I'm ready for that myself. lol

You perfectly met the rhyme requirements of this complex scheme required for the potlatch challenge Nagic Nine format. Cute story about. Socks. Flows well. Nicely done.

I love it.

This is me, always, from birth to thirty, maybe. Now I cannot wear socks, my favorite piece of clothing, because one foot swells.

Ah. Well, there will always be beautiful, unmatched socks on others to admire.

Oh wow! You did such a fabulous job with this form! You made it look easy and I know it's not! I love your choice of topic. It made for a fun read. I especially like the line "halfway up or midway down". Very cute and clever! Perfect picture, too! Well done! :)

Thank you so much. Did you find it difficult with the odd rhyme scheme and no particular meter? I did. You did yours very well, too.
reply by JennaG on 08-Mar-2018
Yes! That's exactly what I struggled with as well. It felt odd having those two lines that didn't rhyme with any of the other lines. It was definitely a challenge, but still fun. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! :)

Socks are like that when they get separated from feet. I am sure the split up and on hides in the innards of th washing machine. If one took the machine apart I wonder how many orphan socks we would find. You have met the challenge perfectly as far as the rhyme scheme is concerned and that it seems is all that matters.

Thank you, Jim. I've solved the problem of the missing sock by pinning a pair together for the wash. However, I've seen lately that mismatched sock is all the rage now. Go figure.
