God bless, trust in the Lord and His righteousness to make you acceptable in His sight. He paid for all your sins...so just believe Him and get to know Him better in the Bible. Dennis

I found this interesting, but you lost me with: "Once saved, always saved, is seen as a free ticket to indulge the lusts of the flesh without consequences.
Unfortunately, there are those who are saved who apparently believe and act exactly as the enemies of the Gospel of grace teach"
Are there people who believe themselves to be saved despite any actions they might commit? Thus, believing themselves to be free of, or free to, sin?
Is this a common belief?
Thanks
Gene

Hi Gene,
Thanks for reading and commenting. The Gospel teaches clearly Jesus was the only Person who could pay for sin as He was the only One without sin. This same Gospel states we are credited with a new status before God when we believe what Christ did for us. We move from sinners to saints in God's eyes because He, out of love to us, looked at Jesus as a sinner while He was on the cross.
This is a mid-blowing concept, especially in view of the many who want to attach some good deed to what Christ did for us already. Understanding and trusting what Christ did for us effects an inner change in us which is what Christ called being "born-again". So as new born spiritual children of God, we need to keep on taking in the Word of God to feed on so we "grow in grace and understanding" to the glory of God. Happy to talk with you further on this if you like, but I am pressed for time right now. God bless you, Dennis

A very well-written piece about our Savior. When we say we are reborn we are not free to sin and do all the wrong things and think we are saved and our sins will be forgiven every time.

Your understanding of what I wrote is somewhat conflicted. May I suggest a slow, careful reread? Thanks, Dennis
