Your well penned verse tells a clear and true story.
We all build walls and try to hide our inner selves at times. Your verse tells well.
Nicely rhymed, well done.

Thank you again, Roy, for this lovely poem, bible verses, and the quote about vision. I never heard that quote and I love it. You are the complete package.

Hi Roy,
this is so true. When we are young we think we can fudge our way through life and we will never be found out. It is only in later life that we realise we have wasted time in trying to be who were not.
A great read as always.

I thoroughly enjoyed how this poem flowed from one stanza to the next. It was a smooth read. As a young individual this poem is definitely something to keep in mind!

Roy, you used a very appropriate title, image of words (Helen Keller was an awesome person) and very nice rhythmic words flowed through out your poem.
Paragraph 1- (adolescence) - yes, in our youth we tend to wear a shield to cover our humiliation (shame) and maybe through luck we mindlessly learned some things. But, as we get older that coat will reveal our true heart (soul's core.)
Paragraph 2 - (young adult) We tend to build some barriers as we get older, but the gaps/cracks will begin to show (weakness) when life sends its realities.
Paragraph 3 - (Adult) - All the attractions, blotches, spots, lures and marks in our lives, God's is waiting to have an intimate relationship to get us through life's confusion and maze, sometimes call a MESS. Yes, God loves us and will guide us through our MESS!!
I enjoyed reading your poem. Great scriptures!! I love this one, "In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." Proverbs 3:6 Good Luck. Thanks for sharing.

I truly enjoyed this devotional, Roy.
It causes us to pause in these days of senseless violence, and remember who hung the moon.
It's hard to understand, but that is why they call it faith.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

Hi Roy,
Your message had me thinking of my own journey and weaknesses. It's obviously a huge thing for me. I have faith that my God is indeed guiding me hrouh the maze of life. I find it comforting that He doesn't leave me alone.
