In part one, you accomplished your purpose. You set the stage by giving the characters personalities. You showed the help that could have been given by a woman's presence. In part 2, you laid some groundwork and left us with a cliffhanger as both men were touching their guns. Well done.

Glad you enjoyed this portion of my tale. Good ole fashioned shootouts were common in the West. Did these two? Suppose the next chapter might answer that question?

So good! I love the voice you chose for the narrator. I don't usually read westerns but this one would suck me into the story!

It flowed well and read well with no grammar issues as well.
