OK!!! here goes...my mother took my nieces to the movie once...the little one sat on her lap...about a few days or so...my mother head started itching...she ask my dad if he could see anything in her hair...he couldn't have seen it...if it were the size of a grape...so on one of her doctor visits...she asked the doctor to look...he took a fast glance...thinking she was nuts...a couple weeks later it was making her sick...her nerves were shot...and she dropped 10 pounds going through it all...from scratching she had large scabs on her head...bleeding...and still no one know what was going on...they put her in the hospital because she was breaking down...she called me and told me she felt like she was dying...so I left the next day...the first thing when I saw her hair...it was awful...looked like she had never combed it...I guess from itching it...I cut it myself most of the time...so I told her we were going right then to get a hair cut...we got there and she sat in the chair...the lady came over to run a comb in her hair...and she jumped back...she told me to come over there...her hair was full of adult lice and nits...made me sick...so they gave me a shower cap...and I made her put it on...they wouldn't touch her hair...I stopped on the way home and got RID for lice...I took her home...and for two weeks would not take a towel off my head...that day and night...I striped everything down...remember this was going on for awhile...I through away all their pillows...and took down the curtains...I took almost all the clothes they owned to laundry mat...bags and bags of them...I dried them until they burned my hands to take them out...and their clothes...think I shrunk some...on the way home...I stopped at Walmart and got all new pillows...that night I told my dad to leave the plastic on them...and sometime in the night I heard him swear...and then start laughing...his pillow had shot out of the case across the room...so I told him to take the plastic off...I covered their beds with vinyl zipper covers...so I know the beds were safe...that night I worked on my moms hair as well...I have long nails...and stood up until about 4am cutting and washing...and pulling lice and nits out of her hair...the next day...on about 3 hours sleep...I shampooed carpets...and couch, recliners...and kitchen chairs...and then poured baby power on everything...it kills lice to breathe it in...they were using the same towels...my father came to me in the night and asked if you could get lice in other places...I just handed him the Rid...didn't care to know anymore than that...most have worked...he never said anything about it again...and I never asked...I worked on my mothers hair everyday...but her neck was itching...I thought maybe some had gotten into the skin line around the bottom of her neck...so I took goobs of Vasiline and put it all over her neck...figured...let them chew on this stuff...in just a few weeks all was working...her head was healing...and she was gaining weight again...we went to the doctor who never found them...and told him...he whispered...and said...don't tell anyone I didn't see them...I got it wrong...had to get out of that room or I would have bunched him...my mom just wanted to let him know...she wasn't crazy...there was something wrong...that's where the shower cap came in...LOL...mom can remember it like it was yesterday...

    Well could you ask Mildred???...LOL...
your so welcome sweet angel...smiling back at you...love xxoo

OMG! Linda, your poor mother! That is so disgusting what her doctor said to you, your mother suffered all that through his incompetence, I would sue the idiot! Now I can see what you meant about putting a shower cap on. I think I'll change my word from 'nit' to 'clangers' LOL! Give your mum a big hug from me! xxxxxxx

I've had a blast traveling along back into the past with Veronica, but if I were James, probably not. With such thrilling trips behind her, I'm willing to bet she has no intentions of stopping now. LOL! See, she, or should I say you, have me speaking about these as real journeys. Thanks for sharing another fine chapter. :-)

I like this little family scene in there, showing that Veronica has a normal life with James and the kids aside from being a time-traveler. Well, James may not like it, but he's willing to help her. The new info might just what she needs.

he tilted my head [up towards his] and kissed me <-- Shorten this by removing unneeded, obvious words:

he tilted my head up and kissed me

Thank you so very much, my wonderful friend, for all the golden stars!! I taken those words out of the sentence, and will look for other unnecessary words. Big hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xxx

I meant to omit UP also, as you can see in the original sentence, but I typed it wrong. Typical. Sigh...

He tilted my head and kissed me. --OR--

He ripped off my head and kissed it.

Oh, I like the second one best! lol. I had taken the 'up' out as well. xxxx

Hi Sandra, what a wonderful new chapter. I can understand if James feels a bit miffed and left out. It must be difficult to fully understand what is happening to his wife. She is leading a double life after all, without being unfaithful. As you know, I love the story.
which caused Mildred to purse her lips for a moment. A suggestion: I would delete 'for a moment'. I don't think it's needed.
Big hugs from here. I'm so busy moving. Ulla xxxx

Thank you so much, Ulla for the lovely review and all those stars. I really appreciate them. Yes, James can't always be so understanding, it just wouldn't be natural. I hope your move is going well, I'm sure you are buzzing with all the excitement. Big hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xxx

There are no "nits" that I have been able to ascertain. This is my second chapter to review, and I have enjoyed them both. I loved the time travel series on tv and I am sure that I would like your entire book. I don't particularly like the husband. He is too smothering

Thank you so much, Debbie, for your lovely review, and for coming back to read more of my story. James really is a sweetheart, but he is struggling at the moment, it's all new to him, whereas Mildred has been aware of Veronica's time travelling since she was a 14 year old maid in the first book. James was only told when Veronica was transported once again into the past, after 5 years of nothing. I'm sure he's soon settle down. I'm really pleased you are having opinions of the characters already, that is really encouraging. Big hugs my friend. :) Sandra xx

Another riveting chapter that you chopped off and left me hanging. lol

You must hurry and tell where Francis is. I can only imagine. You certainly know to create tenseness and anticipation. 8-)

I was just about to write what James had found out, and then I saw the word count, so I put a full stop (period) there instead! LOL. Thank you so much, my wonderful friend, for the lovely review and all those lovely stars. I'm just off to bed and have a big smile on my face now!! Big hugs, my friend. Sandra xxxx

Mildred is such a noble-hearted soul, I'm beginning to really like her:

>>Tis a cryin' shame yeh can't bring him back with you. He'd be getting' a lot of love with us.' Mildred looked over at James and the children. 'Look at 'em ... could yer imagine havin' to leave the pair of 'em in the attic? It's not right. Isn't there a family near abouts who'd take him in?'<<

Uh-oh, I wonder what James has come up with now about the whereabouts of Jacob in 1846... Can't wait for the next post to find out.

Excellent writing with no spags or any other nits.

LOL, Barbara! You only post once a week, too! I wish I could post more, but I have two serious health issues with two members of my family that has quite thrown me this week. I'll try harder. Thank you so much, my friend. I loved your review. XXXX Sandra
