What a great day of learning and discovery!! And I'm so happy that this was chosen for the Book of the Month contest! Congratulations!

I enjoyed all the information and the students' reactions. I have used the "telephone" parlor game with my English as a Second Language students and the results are just hilarious!

The first sentence could be two or three sentences. Maybe:
When you see something, the signal travels from your eyes to your brain. It occurs in reverse and your brain sorts it out; the nerve used is your optic nerve.

Smelling works very similar (similarly)

Thank you so much for reading, reviewing and your great comments. I am so glad that you got to use the 'telephone' parlor games, it was amazing. I will fix those in a moment. Hugs n smiles!

Ah! Chinese Whispers! "Send three and fourpence we're going to a dance!" was the famous one and the attack failed because the urgent message had originally bee, "Send reinforcements, we're going to advance. It doesn't work any more, not now we have changed our currency. Lol. Another fine episode. You will have all your reviewers qualify as nurses if this goes on much longer.

LOL. I truly doubt that, I would like to think of it as providing some interesting and unknown tidbits through creative writing. I do so like your concept of the whispering. It was rather original. Thanks for reviewing.

Nicely done. You first paragraph was pretty thorough describing the five senses. I know, I learned something. The reader knows pretty much what you was going to read about with the title, "The Nervous System?" Great tips in your story, such as "nursing homes add sugar to their vegetables to make them tastier." How cool?
Your story is very interesting, especially the game you wrote about. The ending was funny. Your writing doesn't share how many people played the story. It only spoke about the students, Philip, Brenda, Jon and Andrew. However, it sound like you sharing the game with several groups. The different paragraph next goes into several games to test regarding how the students would react to smells and the taste (dealing with the common senses). Your story touched so much about the nervous system. This was a great read for me. Maybe you could use the word, "students" a little more so we know you are still talking about them.

The last paragraph - "Before we called it a day and I gave them their" change "them" to "students". Just a suggestion.

Sound like you have learned so much about the anatomy, but you are a nurse! My mother was a nurse's aid for 39 years. I love reading this piece ARYR. I would recommend this piece to anyone. Thanks

This is a very educational, yet well-written chapter. A good review for me on the nervous system. I'm a retired nurse. You gave us a lot of information, yet managed to keep in interesting, not easily done. Great job.

Thank you again for reviewing and for your kind comments. I do believe that 'once a nurse, always a nurse', even after retiring.

Lol, true. I don't know how many times I find myself giving medical advice. Doing a wellness check on my elderly neighbors. After 25 years of nursing, I guess it's become second nature to me.

LOL, I tend to do the same. It's just habit.
