Very sad poem which is also very moving. To be left in darkness, no light, no love, no hope, is a terrible thing to face. This poem is as brilliant as most of yours are, and worthy of a six. Your startling imagery and mastery of form and technique are second to none.

A dark but powerful poem. It sounds like Dante's Hell or a version of it crying out from a pit of darkness. It is all too real and exposes the darkness that blinds many a soul. It is an excellent poem with strong rhyme, not forced or coerced.

This poem reminded me of poems Edgar Alan Poe wrote. Many of his poems were dark. Thank you for reposting this one. Of course, as usual I missed it the first time around.

Do you still write things anew or are your releases from the past resurrected to surface again? I wouldn't know. You read like Poe or someone from the eighteenth century

Perfect rhyme and metre as always and many will identify with these words as we sometimes bury the hatchet and move on, otherwise our burdens in life will weigh us down, a poignant post, love Dolly x

Hi, I want to say that depression is so bad and dark but one way to fight it is to be consistent and strong. I understand as I've been diagnosed with MDD and I do know it is a battle each and every day. Just want so also say to you cut that depression away, wake up with a smile on your face and thank the lord each day for waking you up. Keep on fighting because I'm fighting too. You matter.

Brilliant! Though a sad theme, your talent is telling in this awesome verse; rich vocabulary with superb alliteration and quite a few unique verses, "Sadness saturates my soul,"-simply wonderful! Thank you.

Oh how I can relate to this poem. Depression is so crippling, not just the mind, but the entire body. It stops life in its tracks everything becomes, dark, black and cold. There is no hope and all that we once did, no matter how much we wish to do again, we just cannot. Very well defined and illustrated about depression. I can see it and feel it. Although sad, written beautifully. Sherman541

Excellent writing. The rhythmic words flowed very well and relayed what I thought was a great story. As I read this, it was as if Vincent Price was narrating. Great job!

A powerful poem illustrating the overwhelming power of depression, the illness, not the state of being temporarily blue. It is indeed something entirely different.

Exceptional work as always, Tom. :)
