Such a beautiful faith poem, Roy! I also appreciate your reference to Habakkuk - less read prophet. Despite the physical suffering on earth, and even with lack of joy, we can still hope in Him. In the last line, I stopped at "hope's light beam." Because 'light' means both brightness and 'not heavy,' I wonder if the alliterative alternative of 'hope's bright beam' might be considered.

Not only is your poem perfect in both rhyme and meter, but, more importantly, I found it to be so uplifting. Your faith in God has allowed you to feel hope and to see the positive.
While I loved all of this poem, I especially like the second stanza. I do wonder, though, if there shouldn't be a comma after "day" rather than a period.
